Hi There,

I applied to become an editor a couple of months ago and was rejected on the basis that I hadn't revealed all the sites I was affiliated with. I was encouraged to resubmit my application again disclosing all the sites I've worked with and I should be successful.

I resubmitted my application but I haven't received a response yet as to the whether I have been approved or not.

Details of the application are below:

Application number: opendir - 43e70e7bf4a10d1bf9d24bc243375c46

Category applied for: http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/North_Yorkshire/Harrogate/Business_and_Economy/Computers_and_Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/

Date Applied: 26/06/2010

Editor Name: LewisSellers

I look forward to hearing from you with a view to being a part of the DMOZ Community!

Kind Regards

Lewis Sellers

It has been rejected. As far as I can see for the same reasons as the first attempt.

I advise you to read all pages of the Editor Guidelines before applying again.

I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.

Hi There,

Ok, I was rejected on my first attempt for not displaying all the sites I'm affiliated with, but I have disclosed all of these second time around.

I did apply for a category that one of my sites will be listed in. I know this isn't liked, but I did write in my application that I thought the site would be listed anyway.

Would you recommend me applying for a completely different category unrelated to any of my sites?

Any information would be much appreciated. I've read through the guidelines various times and that is the only part I believe I fall down on.

Kind Regards

Lewis

We don't mind an applicant owning a website that could be listed in the requested category - provided that it's declared.

Hi There,

I haven't received a reply to my application yet and I just wondered if there had been any updates on it:

Application number: opendir - b559d0cc504942d0f8a9978633243291

Category applied for: http://www.dmoz.org/...nd_Development/

Date Applied: 12/08/2010

Editor Name: LewisSellers

I've tried a few times to apply to become an editor and I know I'd do a good job of checking sites over and ensuring they had a well written description.

If you could provide an update and let me know what the status is along with feedback, that would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Lewis Sellers

It was declined.

I doubt a new application will ever be accepted.

I will and can not tell you anything more (nor can any other editor). So need need to ask. Let's say: you and DMOZ do not match.

Hi There,

Ok, is there a reason why a new application would never be accepted?

I'm a little confused as to this response. I was told in my first application to reapply and I'd have a good chance of being accepted, however, I've now been told that I don't match DMOZ? Any clarification would be great. I just want to know what the reason is behind me never being accepted.

Regards

Lewis

Unfortunately, we aren't able to give any clarification other than to say that we don't tell people not to reapply frivolously and generally only do it when it's clear that the applicant and the goals of the project do not mesh.
