Hi everyone,

My application was declined, with the reviewer citing that I could not have more than one ODP account.

My original account "greent" was created many years ago and has been left unused for a long time now. The domain name my original email address was based on is no longer controlled by me and there is no way for me to get access to emails sent to that address. Earlier attempts to regain access to my ODP account failed in the past due to the fact that in order to reinstate the account I needed username/password and could not get the password via email. That is why I have not used the account mentioned for a very long time now.

I decided to apply for a new account ("gassyjack") as since the original account was opened I got married and changed my name and email address. In addition to that I intended to volunteer as an editor for a variety of categories related to new media. That would have required me to apply for new categories anyway, so I thought getting a fresh account would be the best step. Being honest, I did not fail to mention the old account, leading to the rejection of my application.

Please reconsider my original request to delete the old account and accept my recent application for a new account.

Your help is much appreciated.

Whilst we usually welcome returning ex editors, we are insistent that they come back under their original identities. That's why we ask that question on the application form.

That you've forgotten some of your login details or you no longer have access to your original email account are merely stumbling blocks, not show stoppers.

Please contact me via http://www.dmoz.org/public/sendemail?editor=jimnoble with as much corroborative information as you can such as:-

Approximate date joined

Editor name (but not password)

Real Name

Original email address

Joining category

Additional categories gained

Roughly how many edits done

Approximate date of leaving and the circumstances

Convince me that you are who you say you are and I can reset your email address of record to one that works today. This will make it possible for you to request a password reminder and complete a reinstatement request form.

Hi Jim,

I have meanwhile been able to set a new password thanks to your changing my email address, and I have furthermore requested reinstatement.

Thanks again for your help.
