jaysspot Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Hello I am fairly new to DMOZ and the web in general. I have owned a website for over a year, and It was suggested that I submit it to DMOZ. I did and the site was never listed. Because it is so important to be listed in DMOZ, my question is this. Is there any way that you can get to ask any questions about a particular submission? My site seemingly follows all the rules, and it would seem it has been rejected as it has been 13 months since now. A few of my competitors are listed and I chose the same category as them, so it can't be the wrong category.. I would love any positive advice about this thanks
Meta mauri Posted March 27, 2011 Meta Posted March 27, 2011 Is there any way that you can get to ask any questions about a particular submission? No, because we don't provide any service to the submitters and also because there isn't a particular answer for a particular submission. All submitted URLs are in the same condition (waiting for a review) but nobody is able to say when the review will happen.
alvarezjav Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Hello Just an "easy" question, how many people from DMOZ are reviewing the submitted URLs? Many thnanks in advanced
jimnoble Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 About 6000 - but they are all volunteers who edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them.
