I can confirm the behaviour that you're seeing in #3425, but as far as we're concerned the thing that we want to know in that case is that the site has moved and the URL we've currently got is not the correct one (see http://dmoz.org/guidelines/describing.html#url ) I haven't done anything with that particular listing yet, but I'm sure someone else who's passing will...

Canyon County Shelter

 

ok then maybe I am seeing something different from you...

 

When I go to the page http://business.fortunecity.com/lauder/364/ I see the message, and a big picture of their new establishment. The hyperlink on that image goes to http://www.canyoncountyshelter.org which appears to be the new home, and which is now listed in the category, instead of the old one.

 

I hope that this issue is dealt with.

ok, I'm not sure how important this is in the big scheme of things. I have replaced the old URL with the new one in the listing. I assume that this is correct, now. Please let me know if it is not.

As far as that listing is concerned, the dodgy click stuff is pretty much irrelevant. The old URL was redirecting, and so we've replaced it the the correct new one.

Hijacked Link. It's really a link farm deceptively directing traffic to a select few sites.

 

- Directory commemorating the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Find travel information and events near the historical trail.

 

1.) First of all, the category is Iowa but the landing page is Montana. If from the landing page you select either the L&C 200 link for Idaho or Oregon, all subsequent links from those to pages are inoperable. The only live directory links are from the Montana landing page.

 

2.) Regardless of which directory category you select, when Boise, Idaho is a category, this Realtor Hector Meraz will have a listing. In the following example, the category is: "Auto Service in Boise Idaho"

 

 

2a) What do we see listed under
Boise Auto Service
but:

 

- Boise Idaho Real Estate IdahoHector.com Hector Meraz is dedicated. ...

 

- Keller Williams - Boise Real Estate.
Hector Meraz
Hispanic, spanish speaking real ...

 

2b) In any category, Hector's real estate is found under Boise. Here's another:

 

The top level category of the next link is TECHNOLOGY. When you follow the links to Boise, Idaho. You find a single entry for
Hector Meraz real estate
.

 

 

Here's another example of the deception on this site:

 

3.) From the main landing page, click the Lodging / Camping category link. You will be taken here:

 

 

3a) Click the Motels Category: You will be taken here:

 

 

3b) Click the DC Category: You will be taken here:

 

 

3c) Click the Washington Category: You will see a single entry for the Caboose Motel. Here is where the deceit becomes apparent:

 

 

3d) Click the Caboose Motel link. You will be taken here:

 

 

Notice the Mapquest icon at the top left of the page. If you click it, it's just for Washington, DC with no street address.
The Caboose Motel is located in Libby, Montana, 59923
.

 

 

In addition to the subject category:

URL changed/Dead Link. The link redirects to either a PPC page or a dead link. I already described the PPC redirection done by the webhost fortunecity.com in #3425 when their clients URL changes. Here they do it again except the redirecting link is dead.

 

- Montpelier, ID - Operated by the Trapper Trails Council. Dedicated and centered around the scouting purpose.

- Unofficial site; contains pictures, stories, map, and a staff directory.
