Re: #4348, I looked at the search link NeuroToxic provided this morning. The 14 sites were deleted by another editor on March 26. It's possible other FileFront sites may still be listed in ODP, but I didn't check to see if there are any.

Yeah i just noticed that they only show within the search results and the actual listings have been removed. :o

Search works from the most recent RDF data dump, not the live directory. It can be a week or so out of date. The date of the RDF being used is at the bottom of the search results page.

URL Changed. Apparently, the URL changed and rather than the Babbitt, MN weatherpage being displayed, the Anoka, MN weatherpage is displayed. I provided the correct URL below.

Im just giving you the heads up. The FileFront network will be closing down within the next 24 hours.

 

You can see the official farewell announcement Here.

 

After a quick search it would appear that there will be at least 14 obsolete ODP listings.

Well unfortunately i can't predict the future. But the FileFront network will now be remaining online. :o

FileFront has been acquired by the original founders of the site and will NOT be suspended as previously announced. This is NOT an April Fool's Joke.

I think that the recently removed listings should be reinstated if possible. As the network of sites is undoubtedly one of the leading gaming resources on the web. :p

Thanks for the update, Neurotoxic, but as you are no longer reporting a QC matter, and as you now have access to the internal editor forums, I suggest you ask about the re-listings there. :)

FAQ about becoming a volunteer ODP editor.

 

I edit for the ODP and support those guidelines at all times, but my opinions are my own.

#4359 - not sure what you were seeing here. Both URLs look OK to me.

 

I just looked at 4359 again and it's ok. Originally it was a bunch of latin text, possibly Spanish or Portuguese with broken image links on both. Site must have gotten hacked and the admins fixed it.
