In this category, numaTek Web Design appears to no longer be a web design company. I only see web hosting and SEO services.

 

Thank you, the site has just been removed from Design and is on it's way to hosting, and you will see the change when the public version of ODP updates.

I was unable to find these URLs anywhere in our directory, and there is no evidence that they have ever been listed. The changes I have made will not show up until the public pages are re-generated, which won't happen until staff have fixed the bug that's currently holding it up.

That entry was deleted several weeks ago, but the public pages haven't been updated yet. Once the bug stopping the updates is cleared, you'll see the listing vanish. :)

 

We always appreciate people reporting porn hijacks, as we like to rip them out as fast as possible. Unfortunately, the update bug isn't something we can control. :(

http://www.cheap-domain-names.ws/ and http://www.cheap-discount-domain-names.biz/ have both been removed from Computers: Internet: Domain Names: C already on July 5th. The only problem is that the public page hasn't been updated since, due to system works. But as soon as the category refreshes, those sites will not be listed any more.

 

http://www.cheap-domainregistration.com/ is still listed in Computers: Internet: Web Design and Development: Hosting: C. As I don't really know this business, would please another editor have a look into this one?

I could see that the first 2 sites had already been removed but the last one (www.cheap-domainregistration.com) is still around. Just wondering if anyone will be checking on it as well.

An adult store with very explicit pictures is in a category for young girls. Please look at it as soon as you have time because young children might see this site.

Note that staff@dmoz.org goes to the ODP paid staff (who receive a whole lot of mail!). Posting here about this stuff is great, since many of the volunteers can handle these requests.

 

The site won't appear in any future RDF's, and will disappear from the public side when page generation is fixed (staff is working on it).

Double thanks for your persistance. We really do appreciate reports like this...and try to show it by acting on them quickly. (When our new public page update system is working, you'll SEE the results quickly, sigh...)

 

For the record, <a href="mailto:staff@dmoz.org goes to the professional staff, all both of them, and not to any editor. THEY are enormously overworked, and generally, anything the editors can do will get done more quickly if you communicate with "the editors" -- that is, this forum, where many editors can see it, and almost surely at least one will look into it.

 

Communicating with a particular category editor is good also...if that volunteer editor is active and checking mail, otherwise the message may get lost.

A few pages still exist to fool editors into thinking they're related to the previous owner of the domain, but the site definitely does not belong in any of the categories that it's currently listed in:

I think some of those links were removed/fixed a while ago, but the public side hasn't updated to show that. Take a look at Aruba and see if it looks OK to you.

 

The category description you were looking at was for Aruba: B&E: Financial Services . It appeared to be for the whole of B&E because the description for B&E was missing. I have fixed that now.
