jeanmanco Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 #738 5-6 dealt with. So that finishes that batch. Thank you.
jeanmanco Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Working on #750 Miromulus - I'm sure you know that deep links can sometimes be listed. Also a site can sometimes have multiple listings. I will take a look at the ones you point out. But they may be perfectly OK.
miromulus Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Working on #750 Miromulus - I'm sure you know that deep links can sometimes be listed. Also a site can sometimes have multiple listings. I will take a look at the ones you point out. But they may be perfectly OK. Thank you for taking a look Jean. I know what deep link is but I believe you know better. I believe no 6 deserve to be listed more than once, but I just wanted a second, more qualifyed, opinion.
jeanmanco Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 I can understand the double listing of no.6. It is a family magazine, and so logically should not be listed only in the category for women's publications. But the emphasis on concerns commonly considered feminine make it natural to place it there. The Romanian editor had a difficult decision. I feel it best not to interfere. However - thank you for bringing up these points for consideration. The dead links have gone anyway.
jeanmanco Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Working on #751. Done up to crimeresearch.org.za.
Nochaos Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Thank you and keep up the good work. I happened across too many problems and felt an obligation to report it all. Many of the ones I found were parked at NetworkSolutions; there's probably some way to get most of these at once.
miromulus Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Jean, I don't understand what happend. #738 problem 1 is back again. I checked after you solved the problem and it was corected. Why is now back on? Sorry for bothering you.
jeanmanco Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 I moved that listing to the private area for a Romanian editor to consider. There might be further internal discussions, but I think those should be within the Romanian editing community. My grasp of your language is only good enough for the easy stuff.
jeanmanco Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 #751 finished thanks Nochaos. Don't apologise. Removing these links makes for a better directory.

Mr Question Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 There were 3 websites that I located that I was wondering if this would not be a violation of OPD guidelines. http://www.lvrealty.net and http://www.realestatebyjacqulyn.com is 100% duplicate content and owned by Jacqulyn Richey the same person and is listed in http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Nevada/Localities/L/Las_Vegas/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate/Residential/Agents/ Also the website http://www.las-vegas-homes-and-real-estate.com and it is listed as Marcus and Michell Dupree. That website has been sold to another agent within another company. Should this listing be allowed to remain in place as the title of the website has changed and the orginal owner. http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Nevada/Localities/L/Las_Vegas/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate/Residential/Agents/ Thank you for your time. The answer will also clarify information that will enlighten myself and a few clients about duplicate content and ODP.
jeanmanco Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 #764 - Processed thank you. The Open Directory does not list mirror sites. Or at least not knowingly. Some slip through, so sharp eyes are welcome. And we do strive to keep listings up to date - a constant battle in the ever-changing Net. The changes I just made may not appear immediately on the public side.

thehelper Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 I am sorry but I cannot find any other instance of that URL listed in the directory. If there is some other mirror of that site under a different URL I am not aware of it. It appears that the site is listed in the proper category based on the location information. If there is a mirror listed of it please give us the category and the URL. Thanks.
