once again, can not help but complain about those 26! listings of a mostly useless portal. The owners pride themselfes not for being listed within ODP but for their 11th anniversary, closely connected with the google directory and his travel and tourism page rank order

most willing to provide whatever reasonable substitutes, also e.g. the link to the jewish museum in florence is a special one, if it keeps you to busy, let me know :D

#1881 - just got to that one. Problem is that the official site for the Jewish Museum in Florence does not have a German version, which explains the emmeti.it link instead in World: Deutsch.

 

#1879 - a few deep links have been replaced by the official site or close enough. I am not touching the others, as I leave it to editors in World to judge whether the content warrants a listing.

:) just found a nice substitute for the jewish museum (in german!) looks nice, has some more detailed information e.g. telling that the museum is part of the synagoge etc.

does not work is a link in java;

you might also put it on hold, will try to give the first one a call tomorrow

Thought i would bring to your attention a couple of cats that need improvement.

 

Two sections of DMOZ cats that require attention:-

 

1st Cat - Top: Computers: Open Source: Employment (37)

 

A number of sites that are listed in this sector are to internal site pages with anchor links used rather than the correct site names and titles. I would guess the editor is inexperienced hence the number of errors which have never been picked up - this is the sort of thing that reflects badly on dmoz. Some of the sites already have at least three other DMOZ listings as well

Note that we do list deeplinks, though not usually in commercial categories. So it's not necessarily a problem. In these cases though, I'm inclined to agree with you.

Hi Jean,

 

Ref: My post 1888 and your reply 1893

 

May I ask how long these changes normally take before they show in the results in the directory?.

 

I ask because I notice that even with deleting cookies and refreshing the page the results are just the same as they were before. Does your data centre take a while to update or are we waiting on some other factor?.

Hello David, depending on several different factors, changes in the directory can take several days to show on the public side. Be patient, you should see the changes in a few days.

Hi,

 

The link to www. geocities.com/teatredelraval/ in http://www.dmoz.org/World/Catal%c3%a0/Arts_i_cultura/Arts_esc%c3%a8niques/Teatre/Teatres_i_sales/ leads to a "not found" error page.

 

In the same category, the link named "Teatre-3xtr3s" (http:// 3xtr3s.com/) leads to a website which basically only contents links.

Moreover, the link to their theaters (the interesting stuff for this category) are already listed in http://www.dmoz.org/World/Catal%c3%a0/Regional/Catalunya/Barcelona/Barcelon%c3%a8s/Barcelona/Arts_i_cultura/Teatre/Teatres_i_sales/ (two deep links under the domain teatrepoliorama.com).
