I notice this site has five listings in dmoz but thought that the following entry was just one to many:-

Totaljobs.com - Searchable job listings in the UK. Designed for job seekers and recruiters.

The listing is re-directed anyway but its to an internal page and the site is not specialist in agriculture and forestry jobs as its a generalist job site. Its already listed four other times in dmoz and if this is a correct entry then where do you draw the line? you could add every generalist job site on the net from your job site cat that had a few jobs listed in agriculture. - Remove

Whilst monster is a good job site its already has multi listings - it now has this sub domain listed also. Monster is also a generalist job site with about 12 sub domains. I thought DMOZ listing terms state that it must be websites not sub domains that it lists. - Should be Removed

Dave, there are a quite a few loyal and dedicated editors that diligently work this thread to fix errors and improve the quality of the directory. If you are as impressed as you say you are. Why not give this thread another gold star?

Not exactly. Our guidelines include deeplinking URLS:

 

Deeplinking URLs

 

Deeplinking is the process of adding links to sub-pages and sub-domains within a site.

 

General Rule: In the vast majority of categories and branches, deeplinking is the exception rather than the rule. Deeplinks should offer content that is unique and extremely useful to a particular category. There are no strict rules regarding the type of site that should or should not be deeplinked. Providing deeplinks, in a uniform way, to sites that offer extremely useful and unique content can add value to the directory in a few cases (e.g. categories with very limited content, and where the meat of the available web content is typically buried within larger sites). However, editors should be very judicious when adding deeplinks of a particular URL.

 

Some sites, for example Wikipedia and the BBC, are heavily deeplinked. The mere fact of a listing being to a subdomain does not make it automatically for the chop if pointed out. Editorial judgement enters into it. In the two cases you mention, I agree with you though.

Wow, i cant believe how quickly this thread gets processed. Nice work Guys!, thanks for your prompt attention Jean.

 

Its amazing, it just proves if we all do our bit and bring faults to the attention of the editors the directory can be perfected to a very high standard - this thread gets my vote anyway - superb.

 

Meanwhile, found a couple more, i have the bug for this now!!!, i will be applying for an editor job next!!! Hope im helping.

Its a UK established job site owned by the mail in the UK and is a UK job site, already listed five times in DMOZ including UK, Job Search cat which is the most appropriate cat. Its UK Jobs only, not a construction specialist employment site and its of no use to USA users for resume discussions as a)it doesnt give a resume forum and b) it uses UK CV services, UK version.

Same UK site again should be removed, absolutely nothing what so ever to do with real estate or even UK property for that matter, its a pure UK Jobsite and already listed in the most appropriate cat.

Hi again, found another multi listing site - 8 entries in DMOZ!

 

Appreciate that some sites can be listed more than once in DMOZ but feel that the following entries are an overkill. They represent sector pages or subdomains but its the same UK data for a UK Job search site. I think after three or four listings you have to question if its listed correctly in the directory.

 

The following additional listings should at least be removed:-

#1921 - if the site returns, it can be resubmitted, but right now there's no site and the domain is for sale.

 

By the way, you don't need to say if there are other listings of the exact same url, because these show up in our internal software.

I have the new Firefox 1.5. I wonder if that could be the explanation. Or perhaps your settings are stopping something working?

R.C.M. - only one page on the Italian side is under construction and it is not a vital one. The English content would be insufficient if taken by itself. There is no address or other contact details on the English page. However the address and telephone number are there on the front page.

 

Iceberg Casa Srl - Looks like a change of company name. The Quadri 2000 was a product of Iceberg Casa S.r.l. in Nerviano (Mi). Ro.Bia.Plast S.r.l. is now at the same address in Nerviano.

 

Acta however needs to be moved to Tuscany.
