Application rejected fo severeal times

Please consider the motto of an application while reviewing an application. In the present application format there is no such method. Try to develop a form which can give you a clear understanding to understand the motto of an application.

There can only be one reason to become an editor: To help DMOZ grow in both quality and quantity.

Any such application will be accepted when it shows that the want to be editor can write a decent application and can apply the DMOZ guidelines.

 

You have been given several comments in this thread and all your rejected applications will have had reasons (certainly the list of standard reasons and possibly some specific comments). Being able to understand the reasons and comments can be seen as part of the application process. Solving the issues is something an editor must be able to do as it is much like the daily tasks he will encounter when being ane ditor.

I have no clue what you're saying here, and I can assure you that my English is native and fluent.

 

Both motsa and I have already told you that your English language skills, whilst good, aren't adequate to edit an English language category and the above bears that out.

An application must be done by you as we want to see who you are and what you can do.

An application must be (these are only general comments)

- honest (who are you, what have you done in the past, why do you want to become editor, with which sites are you affiliated)

- complete (don't try to hide any of the above mentioned information, answer all questions)

- provide (preferably) 3 example websites that could be listed in the category (they should not be listed yet), and write decent titles and descriptions (we are not looking for perfection but if you do understand the guidelines)

- write an application with proper use of the language (spelling and grammar) - again we are not looking for perfection as we all sometimes make mistakes but it must be good - that is why we encourage people to start in their mother language and not in a foreign one

My application has been rejected again. This time it is rejected for improper description. The editor says that my description looks like opinionated critiques or listing justifications. I was written the description to describe why I like those sites. Also I found in the comment that I have only one chance more. I am confused that how to write description. Is DMOZ decided not to approve me as an editor? Do not mind I am frustrated.

Why you like those sites is an opinion. And we do not accept such descriptions.

Each time you made an application the form told you to read the guidelines and to write proper descriptions.

Sometimes people do apply many times without showing any imporvement in their applications. In such cases it can happen that meta editors ask him/her not to apply again. You have been given a lot of advise, both here and in the emails your received after the applicatiosn were rejected. If you are not able to understand that advise and the guidelines to produce a decent application it might be better not to become an editor. It is nothing personal. It is just that a person (in this case you) and DMOZ do not match.

In either circumstance, it's a waste of your and our efforts to persist in this. That's why you've been given one last chance. Don't waste it

It is not that I do not respect your suggestions. But I am not finding suitable category in regional language for me.I am also not interested with those type of site. Practically I did not saw the guide line to become an editor. I have ignored that point. After the suggestion received from pvgool,http://www.dmoz.org/guidelines/describing.html, I find that there were some technical reason in my applications. Owning a site is a great disadvantage to become an editor. This is why I want to change my category of my another interest,DIY. Thus I can assure DMOZ that I do not want to promote my site. Would you like to comment on this post? I do not want to loose my last attempt. I do not want to dishonor DMOZ.

Declaring ownership of a website appropriate to a category isn't a bar to becoming an editor there.

 

You'll enjoy being an editor most if you choose a category that you're interested in. It is a hobby after all.

 

Whatever category you request, we're most impressed by integrity, good communications skills in the language of the category, appropriate examples and good guidelines compliant titles and descriptions.

Ok Jim. Thanks for your speedy reply. I am telling really and honestly that I want to help people. I was mistakenly written that I want to promote my site,in my first application as I did not read out the guide lines. So I determinate to change category. Please review my last application with........... I really spent at least 6 hrs. of time on the internet in a day. I want to utilize these time in the help of DMOZ. Please.

I did not look at your new application.

But did you again apply for an English language category?

If you did it will, to my opinion, most probably again be rejected as your skills in the English language are (as you have been told several times before) not good enough to become an editor for an English language category.
