wesleyh Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I was an ODP editor a couple of years ago. My account expired due to inactivity. However, I'd like to reinstate my editor account. However, when I apply through the Editor Reinstatement form, the system rejects my application with the following error message: "User does not exist, or username/password is incorrect." So I also tried the "password reset" form, but the system does NOT send me any email to reset my password. My old editor username was "wesleyh", and my old email address is still the same. Can someone please help me?
jimnoble Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 The email you used to register here is not the one on your editor account. You changed it to a different one some time. That's probably why you aren't getting the PW reminder now. I could reset your editor account's email but this is a security matter and I need more proof of ID before I do. Please contact me via http://www.dmoz.org/public/sendemail?editor=jimnoble (Don't use any other method) with as much corroborative information as you can such as:- Approximate date joined Editor name (but not password) Real Name Original email address Joining category Additional categories gained Roughly how many edits done Approximate date of leaving and the circumstances Convince me that you are who you say you are and I can reset your email address of record to one that works today. This will make it possible for you to request a password reminder and complete a reinstatement request form.

Though, I didn't fill it out fully as I did the first time because I didn't think it was going to work again. Oh, well. Hopefully it's enough. LOL Thanks again.

To further elaborate on this, when I try to login I get the "Welcome to DMOZ 2.0... blah blah blah." Further it says I need to update my password and it emailed a link to me to be able to do this but I do not get any email. I have tried it many times and even clicked on the link saying to resend it.
