Guest Posted July 6, 2002 Posted July 6, 2002 My site is http:/www.playbookmanager.com and is in the http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Sports/Football/American/Coaching_and_Instruction/ category. I didn't want to move the main URL, but I learned from the Site Submission Status forum that the Shopping category doesn't generally allow two listings per site. So, it seems that the best thing to do, now that the site also contains a sports equipment store, is to request that it be moved to http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Sports/, because that is where all the competitors for the store are. Also, http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Sports/ is used by far more directory services than the category that we are currently in. I know that I can request a change in the description with Update URL. How do I request the move? Thanks.

RZ Admin photofox Posted August 28, 2004 RZ Admin Posted August 28, 2004 Hi Joseph, If you feel that the content of your site has changed enough that it might be better suited in another category then you can use the "update listing" link. This link can be used for: Specifically, this Update Listing form should be used to * Replace an old URL with a new URL when it has changed. * Correct spelling and grammatical errors in the site's title and description. * Suggest a new title when the title on the site has changed. * Suggest a new description when the scope of the site has changed. * Suggest a category more appropriate for this site However it may be unlikely that a request for a listing in a top level category would be approved. The "update listing" link is just a suggestion, at the end of the day it is down to the editors to decide where the site is best suited in the directory based on the content. Sites are listed according to the content not where the sites competitors are listed. Curlie Admin photofox
