Guest Posted July 8, 2002 Posted July 8, 2002 First, I really appreciate the opportunity to post in this forum. The site that I submitted was http://www.jacksonjewelersinc.com. It was submitted to the Top: Shopping: Jewelry: Wedding category. It was originally submitted on April 25, 2002. I emailed the editor of that category on June 10, 2002 with a change in the URL of this site. I would like to know the status of my submission. Thanks.
thehelper Posted July 8, 2002 Posted July 8, 2002 Posting a link to the category you submitted to really helps us do these status checks.

totalxsive Posted July 9, 2002 Posted July 9, 2002 That's strange - I can't find your submission anywhere. Are you sure you've submitted that URL?
Guest Posted July 9, 2002 Posted July 9, 2002 I originally submitted the URL http://www.diamondsatjacksonjewelers.com for this site. I sent an email to the editor of the selected category asking that the URL be changed to http://www.jacksonjewelersinc.com on 06/10/02. Thanks.
Guest Posted July 9, 2002 Posted July 9, 2002 It was moved to Shopping/Jewelry, because the Wedding category is for sites that sell only wedding jewelry. However, S/J has a huge queue. Since you have a store, you can also submit to Business and Economy under Jackson, MS. It will probably get listed much faster there.
Guest Posted July 10, 2002 Posted July 10, 2002 Sorry, but could you be more specific about how to submit this site to Business and Economy as a regional listing? Also, the S/J listing IS large and I was trying to get to the most descriptive category for this site. This site and store sells predominately wedding jewelry such as engagement rings. Thanks for your help.
Guest Posted July 10, 2002 Posted July 10, 2002 You can submit it to: http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Mississippi/Localities/J/Jackson/Business_and_Economy/ The Shopping editors are discussing ways to further sub-divide the Jewelry category, to make it more manageable. Until they decide on a scheme your best bet is to get listed in Regional. (One section is no "better" than another - they are each just as good if your aim is to be indexed by downstream search engines.)
Guest Posted July 10, 2002 Posted July 10, 2002 I have submitted my site to the regional category as suggested. I would still like this site to be listed in the http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Jewelry/Wedding/ category if possible. Thanks for your help.
