ChillyB Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Dear all, We have submitted our directory (shareware and freeware directory), about 2 years ago, we suggest this category to submit http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Shareware/Directories/ My concern is that our site offers coupon codes (discounts) for software, and also we work as all with an affiliate network, one of the top in payment processing n the market. Is correct the suggested category or we should apply another? Thank you for your time.
Meta informator Posted October 3, 2012 Meta Posted October 3, 2012 The category seems to be ok, if not the editor evaluating the suggestion will move it. You do not need to do anything more. Curlie (Dmoz) Meta editor informator
NileGrylls Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I have tried to get approval from Dmoz but I haven't get approval from dmoz. I think they have closed to accept links.
jimnoble Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 @NileGrylls: It would seem that you've been much too busy to read any of the other threads here so I'll repeat some boilerplate for you. You might have misunderstood our objectives and how we operate here. ODP is a volunteer organisation building a directory as a hobby. Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them. Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.
