OrangeCountyAquarium Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Hello dmoz volunteer / editor / representative: Our site used to be listed in the Dmoz directory, however we recently checked for it in the dmoz directory site search and it didn't come up. Can someone check on this please. We were wondering if they perhaps did some updates on the dmoz site, and perhaps the web pages that our site was listed on got inadvertently removed. Note: We will not list our URL here for reference per your forum posting guidelines, however if you go to google and input "orange county aquarium supply" in their search, you will immediately see our URL. Thank you for your time we greatly appreciate it, as we too our editor volunteers for the all experts network. Sincerely, David Email: <email removed>
Meta pvgool Posted January 21, 2013 Meta Posted January 21, 2013 A website can be removed for one of several reasons Most commonly: the website was not available for some time , one of our editors or tools that are helping us moved it out of public view for investigation, after investigation it either will be relisted (the website became available again) or it will be removed (the site is gone) Less common: the website has changed so much that it is not listable anyore according to our guidelines Being curious I did something we normaly do not do, I checked the website. I can find no evidence that it ever was listed in DMOZ. Maybe you have been trusting some outside source, they are known to be wrong in many cases. The best thing you can do is suggest it once to the one best category. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
OrangeCountyAquarium Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 Thank you for the fast reply. I just noticed our ocreefcare site was in fact listed versus our ocreef site, interesting because ocreef is much more appropriate in terms of website construction, and I was certain ocreef was listed. I also thoroughly checked over ocreef's criteria to see if I could figure out why it may have gotten removed, but couldn't come up with anything... In conclusion I just resubmitted, I hope the editor for this section can possibly return it back to its rightful dmoz location once again. Thanks again for your time, it's greatly appreciated. Sincerely, David
RZ Admin lisagirl Posted January 22, 2013 RZ Admin Posted January 22, 2013 It looked like the Huntington Beach site was outdated and perhaps no longer valid. I changed it to the online store and moved that to the Shopping/Pets/Fish/Supplies category.
