bishan Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I personally submitted my Professional Social Comunity website <URL removed> in DMOZ under the following directory a long back http://www.dmoz.org/...ial_Networking/ But Not getting any response. This is hurting me and all users. I know the importance of DMOZ listing and because of that huge number of website owner might be trying to list it down. That's why DMOZ is taking time to review. Hoping an Editor will read my concern over here and do something for that. I am not asking to list it down but at least review it and let me know. Thanks & Regards Bishan Chakaborty CEO <Company removed> California
jimnoble Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 You might have misunderstood our objectives and how we operate here. ODP is a volunteer organisation building a directory as a hobby. Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them. Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one. Any business that thinks it's being hurt by the lack of an ODP listing should maybe re-evaluate its plans.
bishan Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 Thanks For your reply. I understand now your almost all constraints. I want to list my website in DMOZ not because of any business as i am not looking for money which is the main purpose of any business. I do understand that it might take more time. Anyway I will wait. Thanks again. Regards Bishan
