Editor told me never to reapply?!?

My initial application to become a DMOZ editor was rejected. The DMOZ editor said that one of the website examples was too broad for the category.

 

I spent considerable time searching for another site, not already in the directory, to include. This was not easy. I included a new site and kept my two previous examples because they seemed appropriate for that category.

 

After resubmitting my application, I received another rejection email. In the comments section the DMOZ editor stated: "Your inability/unwillingness to follow our submission guidelines (which require that a website be suggested just once to the one best category)... has convinced us that you'll be unable to work within our more complex editor guidelines. Thanks for your interest but please don't apply again."

 

The websites included in my applications were hypothetical examples to show I understood what sites where appropriate for the said category. These were not official submissions to the directory. Did this editor expect me to include 3 new sites when I reapplied? Each site took considerable time to find.

 

Further how can an editor of a non-profit organisation tell someone never to reapply?

 

I should be grateful if someone could look into this.

You suggested your own website to 14 different categories on 2013-04-07 in defiance of our submission guidelines at http://www.dmoz.org/add.html which include You should suggest a site to the single most relevant category. Sites suggested to inappropriate or unrelated categories may be rejected or removed. You agreed that you'd read them during each transaction.

 

Your activities have caused extra work for our hard pressed and much maligned volunteer editors who will have to tidy up the mess.

 

Bottom line: We don't think that spammers make good editors. We wish you well in your future endeavours elsewhere.

I do not recall submitting my site to 14 categories, But nevertheless I selected relevant categories. Further, I do not think it takes much time to press a delete button.
