Hello Sir/

I recently reapplied to be an editor, today i tried to login domz and got some error message as follow.

1. try to login, input the username and password

2. then i got the error message:"User needs an email address verification before the user can login."

3. then i search the verification email in my gmail and click the verification link

4. try to login and got the same message.

so, could somebody help me about this? how can i do to solve it? thanks

There is no editor account waled80 and neither is there an editor application in that name. Also, I can find no trace of an application or editor account using the email address that you used to join this forum.

 

Did you receive message asking you to verify your email address by replying to it? Until that transaction is complete, your application is invisible to us humans.

 

Until you receive email saying your application has been accepted, you won't be able to log in as an editor.

The email must be replied to within a limited timeframe.

If the system does not receive the reply the request will be deleted.

Which has probably happened with your request.

Or you did nit give us the correct information.

Whitelist email from the dmoz.org domain in your spam filters and then start over.

strange, in your first post you wrote "3. then i search the verification email in my gmail and click the verification link"

Either you did not receive the email and you could not have clicked the link

Or you did receive the email and did not click the link at the moment you received it but did click it some time later.

It can't be both.

There is only one thing you can do. Apply again and this time click the link in the email you receive.

I don't mean to muddy the waters here - but I don't think you can log in until you are approved as an editor, no?

 

I get that "User needs an email address verification before the user can login." message too if I try to log in (I'm not approved yet) but I know my application is in (I applied to the confirmation email and it's been verified here on the forums that it's pending).

The DMOZ system knows the editorname (to prevent others from using the same name on their applicaction).

But until you receive an email telling you that your application has been approved it will be inpossible to login.

There is no need to try.

Waled's application is for a language not many if our meta editors are capable to understand. Unfourtunatley this means that it can take a longer time before it will be evaluated. Please be patient.

Correction: Application 172865 for waled81 is no longer pending review and there is no editor account with that name so I expect it was declined.
