Hi All,

I used to have a DMOZ account many many years ago and I have no idea what my credentials may have been. It would have been in my name (Peter Edwards). It could have been registered under my hotmail account (surname_firstname@) or possibly under an old ISP account (Telewest/Blueyonder).

I'd like to start editing again and so would be grateful if you could try and locate my account.

Many thanks,

Pete

I can't find any ex editors with that real name or with a hotmail email address with that shape. With almost 100,000 editors in our history, there are too many Peters and too many Edwards to search through manually. It might help if you could remember your joining category and roughly when you joined.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for getting back to me. I would have joined pre-2005. As for joining category it would have been something under IT (which I know doesn't narrow it down much).

Thanks for your help.

Neither of those titbits narrows it down at all.

It looks as though you applied for a category recently, declaring that you'd not been an editor before during the process, and were busted. Sadly, whichever meta editor busted you didn't archive his/her reasons or provide a link to your old account. [177099]

What was the email that you received?

We await more definiitive information from you.

Yeah I added in the comments of the application that I had previously been an editor but that I couldn't find any of my details. They then pointed me in the direction of this forum.

I'll see what else I can dig up. I presume you only record username, name, email and categories - nothing like DOB?

Thanks,

Pete

"nothing like DOB" No, neither that nor passport number alas... ;)

Exact email addresses, or websites you'd declared and/or added might help the search.

Hmmm.....I'll put the genome sequencing on hold too then :)

I'll have another dig through my e-mails and see if something magically turns up. Otherwise I guess I'm doomed!

Thanks for your support.
