TeriJ Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Hello, We've been listed for years, and looking back.. I should have left well enough alone. I began directing traffic to the non-www version of our site last fall, and also set up a 301 permanent redirect on our website. Stupidly, I messed with my DMOZ listing to reflect this change by trying the 'Update Listing' for this minor correction. After no changes were processed, in mid-December I submitted a 'Suggest A Site'. Now, sadly, my site was removed completely, and I'm kicking myself for this. Essentially, I messed with the Holy Grail of listings to change one minor thing, and now I've lost my listing altogether. Am I out of luck? Can I file for a reconsideration? Maybe the editor assumed I was a spammer when I did the 'Suggest A Site' when I already had a visible listing. Maybe the title of my Reconsideration could be 'Not spammer, just idiot.' Or perhaps this is just temporary, which is what I'm hoping. Also, for several weeks now, I can type my web address in the search box and it shows it in the category it was always in - but when I click to go to the category and view it, it's not listed. Any suggestions (besides crying, and waiting possibly years)? Thanks for reading.
RZ Admin Elper Posted January 26, 2014 RZ Admin Posted January 26, 2014 Hi, I looked into this, it was some kind of bug, now fixed - Using "Update Listing" was correct for a redirect, "Suggest a Site" not. elper {moz}:curlie: All opinions expressed are my own, and do not necessarily represent the official point of view of the administration of either this forum or the directory.
TeriJ Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 Ok, I figured that would be the case; that the Update Listing would have been the correct route. Thanks for your reply, Elper!
