jasemoz Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Hi there, I'm trying to get my account reinstated with no luck. I've filled out the reinstatement form but it will not send as it states: Please submit the email currently associated with your editor account. I am 99% positive I am entering the right email so I'm wondering if someone can check for me. Otherwise am I out of luck? Let me know thanks. Username: jasemoz (if you need more info let me know)
jimnoble Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 There is a jasemoz editor account but your email of record isn't the same as the one you used to register here. This is a security issue. Whilst we usually welcome returning ex editors, we are insistent that they come back under their original identities. That you've forgotten some of your login details or you no longer have access to your original email account are merely stumbling blocks, not show stoppers. Please contact me via http://www.dmoz.org/public/sendemail?editor=jimnoble (Don't use any other method) with as much corroborative information as you can such as:- Approximate date joined Editor name (but not password) Real Name Original email address Joining category Additional categories gained Roughly how many edits done Approximate date of leaving and the circumstances Convince me that you are who you say you are and I can reset your email address of record to one that works today. This will make it possible for you to request a password reminder and complete a reinstatement request form at http://www.dmoz.org/docs/en/reinstate.html.
jasemoz Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 Ok great I've sent you the form. If there is anything else I can provide you let me know.
jasemoz Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Hello again, Thanks for the reinstatement I waited until I received the password reset email in my inbox and just successfully reset it now. However when I tried to log in I get the same screen as before which states: Your login has been inactivated. Editor logins expire if an edit is not made in four consecutive months, even if you logged in during that time period. To request reinstatement of your login, please submit the Account Reinstate Form Should I wait a few more days before attempting to login even after successfully resetting my password? Let me know, thanks! Jason
Meta pvgool Posted February 19, 2014 Meta Posted February 19, 2014 a password reset does noet mean you are reinstated you will have to make a request using the new password I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
jasemoz Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Ah ok no problem. I assumed the previous step submitting identifying info would do both at the same time. But re-reading jimnoble's first post he lists the steps out clearly so it's my fault. I've submitted the reinstate form just now thanks.
