"Not a valid key" error when trying to verify e-mail address.

I recently submitted an application to become an editor and shortly after, received an email asking me to verify my e-mail address. When I follow the verification link, I get an error that says "Not a valid key." I hope that this is not a crucial step in getting my application processed and would appreciate any assistance with this issue.

Most probably you clicked the link twice. Once it is verified a second click will result in this message.
