Guest Posted July 11, 2002 Posted July 11, 2002 It's first time I use this forum. I have submit and re-submit this URL for over serveral months without any respond. In fact, I have tried this two directory. http://dmoz.org/Regional/Asia/Hong_Kong/Business_and_Economy/Industries/Manufacturing/Bags/ or http://dmoz.org/Business/Industries/Fashion/Manufacture/Clothing/Accessories/Luggage_and_Bags/Bags_and_Back_Packs/Bags/ I was wondering about the status of it. Many Thanks!!
totalxsive Posted July 11, 2002 Posted July 11, 2002 Both submissions are waiting to be looked at by an editor. Neither category has a large backlog, so hopefully it won't take too long to get listed. Hang in there /images/icons/smile.gif.
Guest Posted August 17, 2002 Posted August 17, 2002 newregencyind.com still not be indexed over one more month. Please help to check - Is the submission rejected ?? Is the categories I subitted would not fit for newregencyind.com ?? Is there is no editor at that categories especially in the Region HK ?? I have also submit other URLs to Region HK and find that none of them are posted and the total no. of url for /Regional/Asia/Hong_Kong/Business_and_Economy is likely unchanged for over serveral months. What should we do if it is the case ??
Meta windharp Posted August 17, 2002 Meta Posted August 17, 2002 As you can see yourself at http://dmoz.org/Regional/Asia/Hong_Kong/Business_and_Economy/Industries/Manufacturing/Bags/ the category has an editor, whos last edit is several months ago. Your site is listed for your locality in http://dmoz.org/Regional/Asia/China/Provinces_and_Regions/Guangdong/Dongguan Is that of any help? Curlie Meta/kMeta Editor windharp
ollie1a Posted August 17, 2002 Posted August 17, 2002 Can I just ask why the site is listed in the Dongguan cat? Their contact details are listed in HK, although they may have a factory over the border in China. If you wish to reply to this internally please let me know. Editor: ollie1a
Guest just_browsing Posted August 17, 2002 Posted August 17, 2002 "Can I just ask why the site is listed in the Dongguan cat? " For what its worth:- Domain Name:newregencyind.com Registrant: New Regency Industries Limited Flat 22, 10/F, Blk. ollie1a Posted August 18, 2002 Posted August 18, 2002 Yes, as you can see... (or would see if you had lived in Hong Kong, as I have) the registrant company *is* within HK. Administrative contact is China though.
Guest Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 As I have submit and re-submit the domain for over several months with http://dmoz.org/Regional/Asia/Hong_Kong/Business_and_Economy/Industries/Manufacturing/Bags/ or http://dmoz.org/Business/Industries/Fashion/Manufacture/Clothing/Accessories/Luggage_and_Bags/Bags_and_Back_Packs/Bags/ without any respond. Finally, We can only try to submit it to Dongguan which the factory located in. For the domain admin contact, it's the problem for the company which helped to apply this domain and I had told them to fix. Do anyone have a better suggestion for the submission ?? a suitable categories ??
giz Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 Since the guidelines say that you should submit to the *one* "best category" that your site fits into, by definition there cannot be a _better_ category. Failure to submit to a suitable category in the first place leads to delays in reviewing your submission, and multiple submission leads to submitters being labelled as spammers. Be patient someone will get to it. I listed a site yesterday that had been submitted 8 hours before; while in another category, yesterday, I dealt with something that had been lurking for 8 months. These things happen. The one best category is, of course, in a Topical (ie subject-based) section of the directory. You are also allowed another entry in Regional, in the place where your physical store-front is located. Regional sites often get listed more quickly due to less spam per category. Another editors thoughts when the same question was asked by someone else: http://www.resource-zone.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=status&Number=4164&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1
