josh1r Posted March 31, 2004 Posted March 31, 2004 I think what Alucard is suggesting is that you resubmit one more time to the same category Will they look at this as a duplicate submission? Or will it bump me down in the 'queue'? Or if I put a note in the description they'll understand why I 're-submitted' and not look down upon it? Thanks again for the ideas!
Alucard Posted March 31, 2004 Posted March 31, 2004 It should overwrite the previous one. There is no "queue" - it might get "moved down", if the editor sorts by submission date, and reviews in tha order of that list (which is one of the options) slow it down, yes, but the alternative is that the password-protected area of the site can't be reviewed, and the site may get denied. Your choice. Resubmissions of the same URL to the same category aren't "looked down on", since they overwrite a previous one and cause an editor no extra work. They are just usually counter-productive on everyone's part - in this special case, though it would be productive. Either put the username and pass in the description (which will obviously be removed before the site is listed), or provide an email address in the description where an editor can write to you to get the username and password - the first might be quicker for a review, and the second might be mroe appropriate if you have more stringent security concerns. I have seen both done in various areas of the directory. Hope this helps.
josh1r Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 Hi. Can somebody check to see if I resubmitted correctly? I included a note with the logon/password info and just want to make sure it went through ok. I had to try about 5 times b/c it kept telling me the description was too long. I had to shrink it a lot so my explanation about including the password is very brief. As a reminder it is for http://www.italycharms.com which was submitted here: http://dmoz.org/Business/Consumer_Goods_and_Services/Jewelry/Fashion/Wholesale_and_Distribution/ Thanks!!
josh1r Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 Is it too soon to ask for an update? And can someone confirm if my instructions about the password are included with my submission? I'd hate to wait all this time only to find out that they can't access the password portion of the site. Thanks very much! -- Josh
Meta nea Posted May 1, 2004 Meta Posted May 1, 2004 It's waiting for review there, password and all. No need to resubmit Curlie Meta and kMeta editor nea
josh1r Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Hi. Just wondering if I could get another update. Also, is this a 'highly-reviewed' category? I know you can't give me any specifics on when I may be reviewed/added/declined..., but I did first submit this site on 6/27/03, almost a year ago, and then had to resubmit a few months ago after initially being declined. Are you able to perhaps indicate to me if there are dozens vs. hundreds of submissions and if there is a specific editor for this category or if it's just a general editor? Thanks again!
bobrat Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Forum rules now require a six month wait to ask for additional status information. You may also wish to read http://resource-zone.com/forum/faq.php?faq=rz_faq#faq_how_many and http://resource-zone.com/forum/faq.php?faq=odp#faq_no_editor
josh1r Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 It's waiting for review there, password and all. No need to resubmit Hi. I was hoping to get another update on my site. http://www.italycharms.com/ which was submitted here: http://dmoz.org/Business/Consumer_Goods_and_Services/Jewelry/Fashion/Wholesale_and_Distribution/ Thanks! -- Josh
spectregunner Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 You were given a status check on May 1, you are next eligible on or after November 1
josh1r Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 You were given a status check on May 1, you are next eligible on or after November 1 Sorry about that, bad math day. I calculated October 1, but you are correct and it's November 1...
spectregunner Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 It happens. I had to take off one shoe to get it right. :o :o
josh1r Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Hi again. I also just wanted to make sure you are aware of this thread: http://resource-zone.com/forum/showthread.php?p=123402#post123402 and to see if you have any input or can perhaps try to get to http://www.italycharms.com reviewd as soon as possible (I know that probably won't happen). But they removed my other site b/c of this submission, which was actually submitted before the other one, so now I have no sites listed. Ugh, what a mess... Thanks again for any help, -- Josh
Meta pvgool Posted October 5, 2004 Meta Posted October 5, 2004 I also just wanted to make sure you are aware of this thread yes, we are and to see if you have any input or can perhaps try to get to http://www.italycharms.com reviewd as soon as possible (I know that probably won't happen). You are right. Postings made at RZ will have totaly no influence on the time needed for a review. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
josh1r Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 You were given a status check on May 1, you are next eligible on or after November 1 Hi. Can I get a new status check please? Thank you very much!
bobrat Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 Nothing has changed in the last several months, it has neither been refused or accepted.
josh1r Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 Thanks for the update. Can I ask why my other site, referenced here: http://resource-zone.com/forum/showthread.php?p=123402#post123402, was added (then removed) so quickly, while this site has been in the queue for quite a while and hasn't been reviewed? And related to that question, I never received an answer (in the other post) as to why the other site had its listing removed, even though this site was never reviewed. They said I couldn't submit 2 sites so they removed the other one, but that leaves me with no listings. I could see if they reviewed and added this site, and then removed the other since I couldn't have 2 listings, but to remove a listed site simply b/c I have another site in the queue doesn't make sense to me. So I'm definately still a bit confused, especially since the 2 sites aren't really that related (one being wholesale and one being retail). Thanks again and sorry if I'm crossing posts too much with my question... Regards, -- Josh
josh1r Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Hi. Just wondering if I could get an update on this? I originally submitted in July of 2003 and was hoping you guys had some good news for me Thanks! -- Josh
Meta pvgool Posted February 18, 2005 Meta Posted February 18, 2005 No, you can't. To stop people like you asking every month or even every week we have a rule. Only ask for a status every 6 months. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
vze3cf76 Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Only ask for a status every 6 months. Sorry about that. I forgot that it changed from 3 months to 6 months. I'll check back in May. Thanks, -- Josh
josh1r Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 Hi. I think it's now been 6 months since my last update (November 1, 2004) so I was hoping to check the status on my site. Thanks! -- Josh
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted May 6, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted May 6, 2005 I see no change in status in your suggestion since the last status report. Sorry not to have better news. You may ask again in 6 months.
