peter.dell Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 (edited) Hello, * is a cross-development tool for many 8-bit computer systems available at www dot * dot com. Originally it was only for Atari 8-bit computers but have grown to support also Apple II, Atari 2600, Atari 7800, C64 and NES. So the "single most relevant category" no longer is Atari 8-bit, but there would also include: Computers: Systems: Apple: Apple II Computers: Systems: Commodore: Programming Games: Video Games: Console Platforms: Atari: VCS Family: Atari 2600: Developer Resources Games: Video Games: Console Platforms: Nintendo: NES Is there a way to get the site listed there, also? Thanks for your support, Peter. Edited January 2, 2019 by informator 1

Thanks for your support, Peter. It would have to be in a parent category; sites are rarely listed in that many categories. If you're interested, I could research that.

Hi! Well, there is no parent category "8-bit systems" in this case from what I see. The top-level distinction is the manufacturer (Atari/Commodore) followed by the model. 1
RZ Admin Elper Posted January 22, 2019 RZ Admin Posted January 22, 2019 In cases like this editor discretion is the the key; it can be either listing the site in multiple categories (which we really don't like doing; as arubin said above, we try for a parent category), reorganizing or creating a new category (particularly if we can find multiple sites which will fit into it). At a glance, Computers/Software/Operating_Systems/Open_Source and Computers/Programming/Compilers/Cross_Compilers also look like possible candidates (I searched for 6502) elper {moz}:curlie: All opinions expressed are my own, and do not necessarily represent the official point of view of the administration of either this forum or the directory.
peter.dell Posted January 25, 2019 Author Posted January 25, 2019 Hello, thanks a lot, looking at that level I find Computers/Programming/Development_Tools/Development_Environments most appropriate, as in its core it is an Integrated Development Environment for different platforms and languages. Can somebody just change that or do I have to file another type of request? Best Regards, Peter
RZ Admin Elper Posted January 28, 2019 RZ Admin Posted January 28, 2019 You just suggest the site (the :suggest-a-site: icon) to the category, and a volunteer editor will review your suggestion, but we can't say when as there is no time-scale. For more information, we have a FAQ on the subject. 1 elper {moz}:curlie: All opinions expressed are my own, and do not necessarily represent the official point of view of the administration of either this forum or the directory.
