1. help make the Web a better place

2. be recognized as an expert in your chosen topic.

 

but I'm sure other editors can add some more... (Continue the numbering please.)

3. If you are going to pull together your own list of "favorites" on a topic, why not make it available to others?

4. To learn something new about topics, organizing information, and people.

5. To read of a particular ODP data based directory being recommended as the best source on a particular topic.

6. To forget what you did before.

7. Many editors use their work at ODP on their resumes. Why not you? /images/icons/wink.gif

8. Relieve boredom. (I started on summer vacation from school, what else would there be to do?)

9. Build vocabulary.

10. Meet new people from all over the world.
