Guest georges Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Hi I have been asked to find out if these sites should be resubmitted or are they in the queue. Choraphor http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Conditions_and_Diseases/Sexually_Transmitted_Diseases/Herpes/ BioSun Hopi Ear Candles http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Alternative/Ear_Candles/ Thanks in advance for your time, it is appreciated. George
Meta windharp Posted July 29, 2003 Meta Posted July 29, 2003 Both have been or will be rejected. The main site may get a listing (if it not already has one) but we don't list all your product specific deeplinks (even if they look like an own domain as the first one) Curlie Meta/kMeta Editor windharp
brmehlman Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Neither site needs to be resubmitted. The first one awaits review in the category to which it was submtitted. The second one has been reviewed and will not be listed because it is a subpage of an already listed site. [edit added] I should have looked closer, rather than merely confirming the submission. I agree with windharp, neither site is likely to be listed.
Guest georges Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 Hi windharp The choraphor.com is a totally different site to globalherbalsupplies.com. The product choraphor is a unique product and choraphor.com is the most extensive information site regarding this product. Any dmoz visitor looking for information on choraphor or a herpes treatment will find choraphor.com highly valuable. Regarding the other submission(http://www.globalherbalsupplies.com/earcandles)it is similar. This site has allot of information regarding ear candles especially the BioSun branded ear candle. Both of these sites are highly ranked by google and fast so they are extremely relavant and the dmoz searches will benefit from them, so how can they be added to DMOZ? Thanks Georges
brmehlman Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 The main site is listed in http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Alternative/Herbs/ . The subsites will not be listed. Our users can find them by going to the main site first.
Meta hutcheson Posted August 2, 2003 Meta Posted August 2, 2003 There can be no possible doubt that rejecting these sites was the only option permitted under the guidelines, as well as the best decision for our users. These URLs, and others like them, cannot be added. I would strongly recommend not re-submitting: you can read for yourself (in the ODP submittal policies) what the effects of further attempts could be. These forums must not be used as "site reviews" or debates about editor decisions, so it wouldn't be appropriate to respond to your defense of the site (much as I'd enjoy it.)
