Guest flexsez Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Hello, I submitted my site April 8th to this category: http://dmoz.org/Health/Resources/Consumer_Information/Product_Reviews/Exercise_and_Training_Equipment/ on recommendation from some of your editors here at the resource-zone. I have not seen my site show up DMOZ, nor have I seen a visit in my logs indicating that an editor has visited the site. Any help would be great. Thank You, Bret
totalxsive Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 That's because it's still waiting for an editor review. Hang in there for a month or so.
Guest flexsez Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 I gather that there is not an editor for that category?
Alucard Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 There are many editors who can edit in that category. Any editor in a category above this one, plus any editall or Meta can review the sites in that category. Thanks.
Editall/Catmv robjones Posted July 29, 2003 Editall/Catmv Posted July 29, 2003 Not having an assigned editor doesn't mean it gets ignored... just means it gets edited by somebody with editing privs in a broader spectrum of the directory or perched farther up the directory tree. I cleared the Unreviewed queue in that category. Yours was one of the few submitted to the right place... which speeds implementation (otherwise they get bounced around as editors look for the correct home). Can't tell you when the public side will update, but when it does, everything that was correctly submitted to that cat is in. [Gee I love a story with a happy ending.]
Guest flexsez Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Thanks for the help guys. I know it's not the most popular category and was just hoping that it didn't get kicked under the carpet. It's kind of like asking someone to take the dog out to the bathroom. You know it needs to be done, but it becomes more of a priority when you hear the scratching at the back door (scratch, scratch)
Editall/Catmv robjones Posted July 29, 2003 Editall/Catmv Posted July 29, 2003 You realize of course that if you start using pithy analogies we DO require you to submit an editor application.
Meta hutcheson Posted July 29, 2003 Meta Posted July 29, 2003 >It's kind of like asking someone to take the dog out to the bathroom. You know it needs to be done, but it becomes more of a priority when you hear the scratching at the back door (scratch, scratch) Sorry, that dog won't hunt. It's more like thinking about picking one howl out of the wolfpack. You don't try. You just bar the door, load the shotgun in case any of them start bouncing at the windows, and go do somethat that won't attract vulpine attention.
