Guest ramman73 Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 I received my application confirmation, and I, too, was unable to respond. I noticed that the return address was "apply@aol.net", I tried changing this to "apply@aol.com", and, once again it was returned. I also tried sending it to "apply@editors.dmoz.org" as suggested in one of the other posts in this section. Was this the correct place to send the response or is there another address? I applied to be an editor in the adult section under the user name "ramman73" and my registration key is "opendir - 85a0f038eea9fb05ad1e8708c1a24070" I would appreciate any help in completing my application or if another editor can check on the status of my application.
giz Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 This is an ongoing bug. Please read: http://www.resource-zone.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=37975
Meta tuisp Posted August 1, 2003 Meta Posted August 1, 2003 I just asked our staff engineer. She said to send the confirmation to apply@dmoz.org
Guest ramman73 Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 I appreciate your help. I had tried emailing to the address that you suggested, and my email server timed out trying to send it. Does anyone else know how to notify the powers that be that I received my email notification? Perhaps during the next upgrade they could make it a link, like the the setup for the newsgroup. Thanks again for all your help.
donaldb Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 Just a bit more patience. At the moment we don't have access to the new application queue so that is why it has been hard to follow up on these problems. Hopefully everything will get sorted out in a few days and we will be able to follow up on these applications that might not have been processed because of the e-mail address problems.

Im in the same boat I applied To edit this section: http://dmoz.org/Arts/Music/Styles/Dance/Trance/Radio/ Only to be unable to do the relevant Email confirmation, is the problem now rectified?

Do you mean the confirmation email is bouncing back at you? Which address are you sending it to? Thanks for ther info. I Submitted around Jan 2005 and the confirmation of submission email that The server at your end sent was unable to resolve itself so I guess it was bouncing back , my server has deleted the original mail now so I will reapply in due course regards JR
