Normally we ask that you wait a month after suggesting a site before inquiring about its status, unless of course you had some error or other trouble with the form. But since I looked anyway, I see no harm in letting you know that your suggestion was received and awaits review.

There is no editor currently named to that category, the information at the bottom of the public page is out of date. But don't let that worry you, there are hundreds of us who can edit there, some of whom do.

It's been over a year since my submission. Anything new to report?

Also, I tried applying to be the editor of the category but when I submit the application, I get an error page.

Thanks,

Ryan

It won't be listed, since your other site is already listed. It should not have been submitted - we don't list multiple URL's for the same company.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying.

On my website, it says Silk Screen Biz is the parent company of Button Biz.

Are you saying that because I say that Button Biz is a Silk Screen Biz company that means I can't get listed? Am I understanding this correctly?

If that is the case than you can make the case that PayPal should not be listed because it is an Ebay company. It even says it on the website.

Hopefully you can clarify this,

Yes I'm telling you your site will not be listed.

PayPal - although now a division of eBay, was a separate company, and remains significant enough in it's own right that it will continue to be listed. That's an editorial decision.

I don't mean to be a pain but I went and looked at the guidelines for submission at http://dmoz.org/add.html and it didn't mention the policy anywhere. It seems I'm getting excluded from the database for a rule/guideline that does not exist. You didn't say my website isn't qualified to be in the category; you are saying I'm violating a rule which I don't see anywhere.

The two sites are in no way similar. They are two separate website and both websites have unique content. They are not cookie-cutter sites.

If you want to get technical about business "ownership," then Button Biz actually isn't a division of Silk Screen Biz. The US Government views me as a sole-proprietorship. My name and social security number identify the ownership of the business. It is not possible to have divisions of businesses as a sole proprietorship.

If I take the label off of my site that I'm affiliated with Silk Screen Biz, will that qualify me for submission.

No where on the policy does it say that a sole proprietor is entitled to only one "submission" into the directory. I'm sure there are hundreds of sole-proprietors out there that have many inclusions in the database even though the websites are "technically" owned by the same person/entity.

Hope to hear from you,

Ryan
