silver Posted March 8, 2004 Author Posted March 8, 2004 No Answer i wish i could check it my self, but i can't
bobrat Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 It does seem that you submitted to one or more categories besides the one you mentioned. That means the editors are going to stop and spend a little extra time and wonder why that was done, and which one it really should be in.
silver Posted March 8, 2004 Author Posted March 8, 2004 I am confused It does seem that you submitted to one or more categories besides the one you mentioned. That means the editors are going to stop and spend a little extra time and wonder why that was done, and which one it really should be in. that is the reply i got from 4 sep 2003 It's waiting for review in http://Computers/Data_Communication...hony/Recorders/ .. and i got the same reply every month. anyway Bobrat thank you for the reply. Silver
bobrat Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 Because of the way the system works, it's not possible to know where a site has been submitted until an editor finds it in the category. So in September, no one had encountered your site. So for all I know your site may be sitting in hundreds of other categories, but until someone specifically looks in the category or makes a note about the site, it's hidden from view. That's why we keep having to ask users what cat they submitted to, and if they only tell us about one of those categories, that's all they can get an answer for.

Bobrat i realy appreciate your reply. what can i do now ? shell i resubmit? man i been waiting so long. Silver
Meta hutcheson Posted March 8, 2004 Meta Posted March 8, 2004 Bobrat i realy appreciate your reply. what can i do now ? shell i resubmit? man i been waiting so long. Silver You can wait. Please do not resubmit. You chose to create a site in a really spam-ridden area; as a result, fewer editors are trusted to clean up the mess, many that are trusted find more important categories to work on (more important in their own view, which is the only thing that counts.) So the spammy categories are neglected. This is only one of numerous ways in which spam hurts legitimate businesses. (And your repeated submittals in violation of the submittal policies can only be counted as spam, regardless of the merits of the site itself. So, I repeat, the most important thing you can do is stop making the problem worse by these unnecessary and counterproductive repeat submittals.)

I only submitted once in august 2003 and i wasnt sure if i submitted to the right category so i resubmit after few days but thats about it. i will take your advice and wait or maybe apply to be an editor in that category. looks like they can use some help
spectregunner Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 maybe apply to be an editor in that category. looks like they can use some help It can and does need help, but it is likely too much for a new editor (we want new editors to be successful, do we don't give them categories where failure is a likely outcome). If you are sincere in wanting to help out and apply to become an editor, find a very small category near the bottom of the tree (perhaps a subcategory of your hometown within Regional) and apply there. Once you have gained experience, and demonstrated your ability to edit well in a trustworthy manner, you will be given plenty of a opportunities to take on more challenging categories.
silver Posted April 9, 2004 Author Posted April 9, 2004 Status Check www.Tel-Biz.com checking for status of http://www.Tel-Biz.com category http://dmoz.org/computers/Data_Communications/Telephony/Recorders/ Thank you Silver
thehelper Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 Sometimes it gets real busy here. Sometimes posts slip off the first page. All the editors that answer here are volunteers, nobody forces them to answer. If you find that your post has slipped off the front page and nobody has answered simply bump it back up to the beginning by posting "bumping thread" or something to that effect. Please understand that your post was not intentionally skipped. We try our best to answer every status request but sometimes things happen. With that said, the submission is still awaiting editorial review.

Editall/Catmv arubin Posted May 7, 2004 Editall/Catmv Posted May 7, 2004 You're 3 days early, even now, for your request, but since I checked, anyway: Published in Business/Telecommunications/Services/Messaging/ about 40 hours ago. It may take a while to appear on the public pages. Seems also to be awaiting review in Computers/Data_Communications/Telephony/Recorders and in Business/Telecommunications/Communications_Providers/Conferencing, and God knows where else! I can't tell if all those were submitted by you, but if you provide a list of all the places you submitted it, it would be appreciated. You almost certainly won't get more than one listing.
silver Posted May 7, 2004 Author Posted May 7, 2004 Arubin Thanks for your reply... "and God knows where else! I can't tell if all those were submitted by you, but if you provide a list of all the places you submitted it" i submitted ONLY to Computers/Data_Communications/Telephony/Recorders it must be an editor who moved it but not me. "it would be appreciated. You almost certainly won't get more than one listing." ALL i want is one listing and i am waiting since august 2003. i am sure you can check and see that its not me who submitted. anyway thanks again Arubin silver
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted May 7, 2004 Editall/Catmv Posted May 7, 2004 As I said: I can't check, although it appears that the site was added directly by an editor on his or her own initiative, rather than from a submission.
