'Bad Authentication Ticket' Response on E-Mail

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm in the application process to become an editor and have received the "please reply to this email to verify email address." I am getting the "Bad Authentication Ticket" response. The subject line contains some very strange characters:

Subject: opendir - \¤Úeúy#TR´

I assumed this was my verification number, but apparently something is wrong. Can anyone help me? I submitted my application today approx. 5 hours ago, and don't want the application process to "expire" if I can't respond to the verification email. Any help is appreciated! My email: kafoster10@charter.net

Firstly, there doesn't appear to be an email address for problems, or a link to this forum on www.dmoz.org? Maybe I'm just missing it. A user on webmasterworld.com directed me to this forum.

I'm experiencing the same problems as kag10.

Yesterday I submitted an application for the editor of http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Health_and_Beauty/Complementary_and_Alternative/.

I received a confirmation email from yourselves (detailed below) and replied to the email as requested. However I have received the following reply:

Your Open Directory editor application could not be confirmed.

The error received was:

Bad authentication ticket

I noticed there were some strange characters in the subject line, and thought it might have been my email client. I went through the application process again with a different email account, but experienced the same problems.

Kind regards,

Fiona Mayo

I finally decided to join the ranks of the ODP editors and received the same bad authentication ticket with some funny looking characters in the subject field. The system will not allow me to resubmit my application, so I'm assuming it's somewhere in the system waiting for me to reply? :(
