Guest Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 I thought it was just me. I just received permission to edit in a cat with over 2k unreviewed and it's taking a minute + to reload the power unreviewed screen. Darn the slowness! I was hoping to get so involved in editing that I forgot to go to the gym. This much time between screens kills that excuse.
Guest Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 Woooweee! Editing is NOT back to speed for me. It's taking minutes to get a screen of power unreviewed and a number of seconds to bring up a single edit screen. The system is moving as fast as hung-over college student on a Sunday afternoon.
sundancerz Posted August 5, 2002 Posted August 5, 2002 Yes it's crawling like a 1 year old. The statistics are all messed up too. Business only had one site and no unreviewed, it's directory wide.
sundancerz Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 Is the directory working slow for the rest of you? It's crawling for me today.
Meta hutcheson Posted August 7, 2002 Meta Posted August 7, 2002 I'm having a hard time telling. How fast does it _usually_ run in categories with 3000 unrevieweds?
Guest Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 Very slow for me, too. I have given up mostly and done real work.
dstanovic Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 hutcheson - 3000 unreviewed ..Uhg!!!! I am finding it next to impossible to bring up a category with about 550. When I do get a edit screen and "update" I have been getting server errors. Categories with one site in unreviewed still take me at least a full minute to update/publish /images/icons/frown.gif (This is with a broadband connection – which right now is useless for editing. May as well be 14.4 modem)
Meta hutcheson Posted August 8, 2002 Meta Posted August 8, 2002 Good news: it's under 2300 now, and much faster. I can hardly keep 4 windows busy.
dstanovic Posted August 9, 2002 Posted August 9, 2002 <<it's under 2300 now,>> /images/icons/wink.gif I spent way over an hour yesterday on one site/listing in unreviewed. Does 10 mirrors and 15 domains for the same company/business set a new record of any kind? I sent all the info to donaldb for appropriate action /images/icons/smile.gif It's these type of sites that take up all of my time - think of how many "unreviewed" could have been "reviewed" in this time /images/icons/frown.gif I have this particular category down to 522 unreviewed - with over 11,000 unreviewed in the topical category /images/icons/frown.gif I think we need some serious help! Dave P.S. I'm off for a short vacation for a couple of days so I won't be think of this - I hope /images/icons/smile.gif
Guest qbp Posted August 12, 2002 Posted August 12, 2002 I think it is the number of editors that are on at the time you are editing. Try getting on at a time that not very many editors would be on (mainly when the US editors aren't on...darn us bandwidth hoggers, there's just too many of us /images/icons/wink.gif) and you'll see that it's quite as fast as it should be /images/icons/smile.gif
sundancerz Posted August 14, 2002 Posted August 14, 2002 But it's no fun without US editors. /images/icons/wink.gif
