I was just checking to make sure that when I submitted Selleazy.com to the directory: Computers/Software/Business/E-Commerce/Virtual_Stores

That it was recieved. I submitted it at a very late time, and it had an IP Error, but according to the other forums, that means it went through. I just want to be sure, it is very important that this site get listed in this category.

Thank You

At this point, we can't tell (without more work than it's worth.) The "IP error" meant it probably went into our "spam filter"; if that is true, it hasn't emerged from it yet.

As for important that that site be listed in that category, sorry, but there's no chance at all that THAT'S right. There are already dozens of sites listed there, and almost certainly one or more of the others will satisfy anyone looking for e-tailing software. In other words, it is of very little importance whatsoever.

When it gets through the spam filter, it will go into a queue of under a hundred sites. Many of THEM are pure spam -- people think the category is for "e-tailing" (i.e. affiliate spam) sites, which is of course incorrect. So it's not a fun category to edit, which is probably why volunteers have somewhat neglected it.

Expect long delays.

But feel free to check back in a couple or three months: bump this thread, and maybe we can give a more accurate status/ Once it comes out of the Spam FIlter (as I'm assuming it will, since many sites caught therein are NOT spam) we'll have something to track it with.

E-Tailing software.... My site not being very important because there are plenty of other sites.... Did you even look at the site? The cheapest E-Tailing site out there is 19.99/month. Please, look at selleazy.com, then tell me what the price is, and if I have everything these other sites have. I'm not getting defensive or anything, I just think that my site has more to offer for a better price than the other sites in this category. If there is a better category, let me know.

Thanks

The "IP error" meant it probably went into our "spam filter"

One of the things that triggers the spam filter is a changing IP - if you have an ISP that uses dynamically assigned IP's you may chang IP's between when you access the form, and when you submit it. This is not to say your site is spam, but it's something that needs to be checked manually .

It will have auctions soon

By the way we only review what is on the site and have no interest in what may be added in the future as we can't foresee the content.

My site allows people to buy and sell online,

Well the category description (which also is displayed when you suggest a site to a category) reads Software and online services for the rapid creation of virtual ecommerce storefronts.

So etailing - selling on the site - is not what that category is for. It is for sites that offer a way to build an online store.

Well replying to deleted posts makes sense :)

Did you even look at the site?

No.

<added>

This forum exists to provide the status of site suggestions, not to expedite a review - the responses you have been given do not require anyone to view the site to know where it is in the submission system.

Thats what the reviewing editor will do. Price comparisons are not a factor, different software doing things in a different (unique) way are.

Thanks, that makes sense. The category I chose has nothing but estore building software. My site is very similar to the other sites in the category, that's what I was trying to say. I'll wait patiently while my site gets filtered out of the spam sites.

I usually spend several hours a week working through the "spam filter", in order to get the legitimate sites (which are, I repeat, most of them) out to be reviewed as quickly as possible. I've been busy elsewhere the last couple of weeks, though.

But just to emphasize: we do NOT assume a site is spam just because it was caught in the spam filter. The filter is necessary and effective for some things, but because it's not perfect, we fall back on our slogan and ask humans to review a lot of its decisions.

I'm just checking back in to see if selleazy.com has been filtered out of the "spam filter" yet. Even though this isn't the forum for it, I don't think, it would be pretty sweet to see a site that displays the status of all of the sites submitted to dmoz, where people could just check the status of their site via username and password, instead of having to bug people on this forum. Anyways, if anyone knows the status of this site, please let me know.

Thanks

Some days ago it was moved back to Computers/Software/Business/E-Commerce/Virtual_Stores and is waiting there with the other suggestions now.

I'm just re-checking again. It's been 5 months since my last post. Just wondering if anyone has looked at the submission for selleazy.com yet in the Computers/Software/Business/E-Commerce/Virtual_Stores directory. Thank You

It hasn't been moved from there.

You can ask again in 6 months, around January 22.
