bcs Posted October 18, 2003 Posted October 18, 2003 I would like to know if there problems to submit php site. i mean http://www.domainname.com/index.php if there any suggestions how to do that , this is not static page index.html Help Thanks.
Meta tuisp Posted October 18, 2003 Meta Posted October 18, 2003 No problems, in fact it would be best to submit just the root URL http://www.domainname.com/ because we never list file names unless you need them in the URL in order to access the site... The home page for this forum is http://resource-zone.com/index.php and it's listed in Computers/Internet/Searching/Directories/Open_Directory_Project (listed URL = http://resource-zone.com/ ; listed title = "Open Directory Project Public Forum").
bcs Posted October 19, 2003 Author Posted October 19, 2003 Thanks for the answer but what i am trying to ask is : my site have different php files under the domain http://www.domainname.com/XXXXXXXX.php , each php file have different title and different description , so basically i need to submit them all, i am trying to create site map with static links to the php files (WITH no succes , using Xenu, but i have too much files so xenu hungs up). Maybe this question not only for submiting to the dmoz.org but totally question about SE. I submitted long time ago my domain bcs-online.net and i still don't see it in the dmoz.org, Thank you again for the answers. and maybe i can get some tips about creating static.html file with huge amount of links. Thanks again.
Guest Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 Looking at that url I'd say submit only the main page - bcs-online.net. I can see that no editor has ever looked at the url, so I'd suggest submitting again to the one most appropriate category. I must admit I'm confused by the relationship between your site and http://www.bid-auction.com/ which both claim to be 'powered' by the other.
bcs Posted October 19, 2003 Author Posted October 19, 2003 BTW i submitted the site couple times during last year and nothing... . Now i did it again , http://www.bcs-online.net and the category is -> Computers: Hardware: Peripherals. I don't know if this is the correct forum , but in addition to my last question, i know SE have problems with dynamic pages like php, asp,pl which receiving parameters. So i am looking for the best way to solve the problem , in order to list more pages at SE.(but like i said they are dynamic). If you can suggest something to solve the problem, and the answer about bid-auction.com it's the next project Thank you.
totalxsive Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 I think you're confused here. We list sites, not individual pages. You should only submit the main URL for your site. Discussion about other search engines should be done on other boards - we only deal with issues specific to the Open Directory Project. Sorry about that.
bcs Posted October 19, 2003 Author Posted October 19, 2003 Yep i know so i submited main page http://www.bcs-online.net to dmoz.org and i hope it will be included this time , like i mentioned before i did it couple time with no success . Thank you for your replies. Hope to see this site in odp.
totalxsive Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 Oh okay. Maybe it was me that was confused.
bcs Posted October 20, 2003 Author Posted October 20, 2003 So i would like to know if there any possibility to review the site . And i am trying to figure who is the Editor for that category -> Computers: Hardware: Peripherals Thanks for replies.
John_Caius Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 All sites in unreviewed queues are treated equally and posting here will not lead to your site being reviewed any faster. The editor for a category is listed at the bottom of the page. Other people who can also edit the category include anyone listed as an editor higher up the tree, so Shopping/Fruit/Apples can also be edited by anyone listed in Shopping/Fruit or Shopping. Also, any editor with higher permissions including editalls and metas can edit in any category. Hope that helps.
bcs Posted October 20, 2003 Author Posted October 20, 2003 Yep thank you for your reply. I just hope it will be included because last couple times i submitted , no one even check the site. Thank you again
bcs Posted April 6, 2004 Author Posted April 6, 2004 I would like to know if it will happen some time , some where and the site http://www.bcs-online.net will be submitted to the category http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Hardware/Peripherals/ Thanks for the fast replies.
spectregunner Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 OK, let me try. It takes between two hours and more than two years for a site to get reviewed by an editor. There is no queue, only a pool of submissions by category. Editors can review sites in the pool in any order they choose, or randomly. One of the sort options for editors is by date of submission, but there is no requirement that editors view sites in that order. The ultimate decision as to which category the site will be listed in is made by the editor, based up to the relevancy of hte content of the site. When at least 30 days have passed since the last time you submitted the site, you may go to the Submission Status forum. there, please carefully read and follow the instructions on how to format and request a submission status check. This discussion thread is not for status checks. Finally, do not resubmit again, for any reason, unless specifically told to do so by an editor.
