Guest Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 I applied to be editor of Health/Alternative/Massage_Therapy_and_Bodywork/Rolfing about a week ago, and replied to the "reply to this message" email later that day. I was having internet problems that day and it wasn't clear if my reply made it out. I did receive another email, this one reading: ------------- Thanks for applying to become an editor! You will receive a reply as soon as your application has been reviewed. ------------------ It looks like that was sent to me *before* I sent my reply. So I'm not sure if it meant I'm in the queue or not. Can anyone check to see if I need to reply again, or if it got in okay? I'm fine with the waiting period to be reviewed, but not sure if I ever made it in line. I don't want to irritate anyone by sending another reply if it's not necessary.
giz Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 Did you ask this question on searchengineforums a few days ago? I tried to reply to that, but their site crashes my browser after a few minutes. You have to receive 2 messages, in total, back for your application to be in the queue. There is no guarantee as to how long it may be there. Guest Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 Yes, that was me. A couple of people replied and said it was probably in, but I don't want to wait for two months and then find out they never received my reply. Do you mean that I should get two messages back *after* I send the reply? I've gotten two total: one after I sent in my application, and it prompted me to reply. The second one is the one I quoted in my first post, and it confused me because it looks like it was sent before I even replied. Since my connection was buggy that day, I don't know if they ever received my reply.
donaldb Posted August 22, 2002 Posted August 22, 2002 Your application is in the queue. Hard to say how long it will be before someone reviews it though.
Guest Posted August 22, 2002 Posted August 22, 2002 Thanks! Waiting is okay - I just wanted to know there was nothing more I need to do from my end for now.
totalxsive Posted August 22, 2002 Posted August 22, 2002 There's nothing more you need to do now. If your application was successful, then you'll get an email in due course. If you were unsuccessful, but the meta editor reviewing the application felt you had potential (in another, smaller category for example), then you may be encouraged to re-apply, again by email. If you haven't heard anything after another couple of weeks, check back here and hopefully one of the metas will check to see if your application is still in the queue. Good luck!
