Hi all,

I submitted this site 1 week ago on Aug 19. I understand that it is too soon to be listed, but I noticed that the catagory I submitted to "needs an editor".

Will that slow down the process and if so by how much?

I am not trying to speed up the process, but I thought that I could get some idea of how long it will take.

Thank you.

Regional/North America/United States/Arizona/Business and Economy/Construction and Maintenance/Builders

The company also operates in Idaho in the same catagory.

I am about to drive from CA to ID and will be back online Wednesday Aug 28.

I appreciate all of your help.

Thank you.

http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Arizona/Business_and_Economy/Construction_and_Maintenance/Builders (please provide 'clickable' URLs as it is a lot quicker for us to check) has 0 unreviewed.

http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Idaho/Business_and_Economy/Construction_and_Maintenance/Builders - does not exist as a category.

There is no record of http://www.homebuilderbob.com/ being 'touched' by an editor (i.e. no reject or acception notes). Please confirm you got the URL correct and which categories you submitted to.

I am sorry about the unclickable urls.

I am sure that I submitted to the Arizona category that I refered to above.

I noticed that windows remembered a mis-spelling if the url.

I am sometimes a very poor typer and I'll bet that I mis-spelled the url when submitting. (homebuider instead of homebuilder)

Should I resubmit?

As far as the Idaho category it could be :

http://dmoz.org/Regional/North America/United States/Idaho/Business and Economy/Construction and Maintenance

Thank again for your help

0 unreviewed in http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Idaho/Business_and_Economy/Construction_and_Maintenance (if you 'cut and paste' the URL bar - it preserves the underlines which help keep the URL 'clickable').

I've had a look for editor notes relating to: http://www.homebuiderbob.com/ , http://www.homebulderbob.com/ , and the 'proper URL' of: http://www.homebuilderbob.com/ - but nothing has been recorded for any of those.

I suggest you resubmit - but don't ask me which categories... The Idaho one above 'appears' all right, but I don't edit under Regional/.../US/... (as I'm "UK" and both countries have slightly "different" ways of working within ODP).

I already submitted to the Arizona category. Should I wait to see what happens and then submit to the Idaho category if it does not get in the Arizona category?

This client already is established in Idaho and wants to promote his business in Arizona.

Thank you

In reply to your query in the second thread you started, it looks like the submission was deleted from Arizona for not being located there. It probably would have been appropriate to have moved it to Idaho, but I don't want to second guess the reviewing editor.

Re: http://www.homebuilderbob.com/

Thank you for all your input. I won't start a new thread next time.

I guess that my question now is whether to re-submit to the other catagory.

Thank you in advance.

Yep, way too early to ask for status.

But since I'm in the neighbourhood, I did see your site waiting with less than a handful of others in the cat. The public page does show an editor last edited there on 31 Aug 02. I also see the editor has been tending that cat every other month or so, so far. I'm a stranger to that neighbourhood, I'll leave it for the local editor.

Thank you.

I will be patient and give the editor a chance to visit.

The unreviewed queue in that category is quite small (less than a dozen sites) - it should only be a few weeks before your site is reviewed.

I have deleted your site from the unreviewed queue of the other category. You will not be penalised for this as it is a "logical" resubmission (however, if you keep on moving the location of your business, then things might start to look a bit strange )

Thank you for your quick response.

I had a street address for the company contact information and then found that they had a PO box in a neighboring town.

I will not change the location again, I promise!

Thanks again.

For a regional listing the actual street address is where a business should be listed, not where it has a PO box. Regional listings are, for the most part, predicated on where a visitor can physically contact a company, ie where it has an office or shopfront you can walk into.

So it probably should go back to the locality it was first submitted to.

Personal opinion

If I was looking for a company to do work I'd rather contact one that provides a physical, rather than a po box address. There is no reason IMHO not to list both.

Thank you for the information.

I have changed the contact page to include both the physical address and the mailing address.

The editor can best judge where to index the page for the directory.

Again, I appreciate the advice.
