It helps the editors if you can provide clickable links like: http://www.beetonvillas.co.uk/ and

http://Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Lancashire/Blackpool/Travel_and_Tourism/Accommodation/Self_Catering.

Looking at the notes, your site has not been touched by an editor; that is, it has not been reviewed yet, neither has it been deleted, or added to the listings. I cannot see into the unreviewed queue for that category, so I cannot advise how many other sites are also waiting. I think there is some detailed work going on in some nearby cats as a result of the thread at: http://www.resource-zone.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=submissions&Number=2475 which did not show submitters on their best behaviour.

Made me smile seeing our old friend Adolph back. I quote from one of my own entries in that thread

Adolf's English seems to be improving!

Anyway "Adolf's" URL is owned by one Alan McPhee who also owns blackpoolseach.com and Northdene Holiday Flats and blackpoolbreaks.net, and Alba Media (all in the public and available at Whois)

And would you believe it this site www.beetonvillas.co.uk is one of Alba Media's sites.

Welcome back Alan <img src="/images/icons/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Yes designed by alba media so what ?

I Have submited since you the editor (doug smith) i have email you regarding my site but no reply.

First you are correct that it matters not a jot who designs the site. Neverthe less it looks to me like a sub site of blackpoolbreaks.net. Wouldn't it be easier just to have one site correctly listed in the ODP (with all the internal links), and creating the other sites purely for search engines?

Alan, I took a look at the category, and the first editor listed is in the higher Lancashire category http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Lancashire/

As that editor is a lady with no connections with Blackpool hotels (more into Koi Carp), it is not surprising that you got no response from emailing Doug Smith

Alan

To find the DMOZ editor to email, you look in the category that you are trying to submit to, and at the bottom of the category you will discover if there is an editor. In your case

http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Lancashire/Blackpool/Travel_and_Tourism/Accommodation/Self_Catering/

This category has no editor, so you try the next category up the tree, and keep going till you find an editor

http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Lancashire/Blackpool/Travel_and_Tourism/Accommodation/

http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Lancashire/Blackpool/Travel_and_Tourism/

http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Lancashire/Blackpool/

http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Lancashire/

And here you find the editor

http://dmoz.org/profiles/sharis.html

Given the evident problems, spam and general bad feeling in the Blackpool categories, it is perhaps not surprising that there is no queue of aspiring editors there.

You might try posting in the "other languages" forum, where you may find an editor that understands your native language
I believe that Alan communicates via an extremely localised, somewhat specialised, English dialect found in certain parts of Blackpool. It does not really have a wide enough following to warrant its own forum.

Apologies for the >> dmoz.org/ << missing from the link. I have no idea what went wrong in the copy and paste action. I'll watch out for that in the future. I usually click on the link to make sure it works, while previewing the message, but typically this must be the one that I forgot to do that on. <img src="/images/icons/blush.gif" alt="" />
