Guest ericli Posted November 12, 2003 Posted November 12, 2003 I submitted this website to phone card distributor category ( http://dmoz.org/Business/Telecommunications/Communications_Providers/Phone_Card_Distributors/ ) about 4 months ago, and recently (1 month ago) I re-submitted it. I will greatly appreciate if any one can check the status for me.
jswafford Posted November 12, 2003 Posted November 12, 2003 Please use clickable links, as the forum guidelines ask: http://dmoz.org/Business/Telecommunications/Communications_Providers/Phone_Card_Distributors/ What is the relationship of your site to www.omnitalk.com and www.omnitalking.com ?
Guest ericli Posted November 12, 2003 Posted November 12, 2003 jswafford, thank you for your prompt reply!! eCallChina.com is one of the advertisement customers of omnitalk.com. eCallChina.com and omnitalk.com are totally independed. omnitalking.com is another domain name registered and owned by eCallChina LLC. omnitalking.com is eCallChina.com's outdated version and it had not been updated any more (the latest update was on Apr. 28, 2003 as you can see on the bottom of the page). Hope it is clear. If any question or problem please just let me know.
Guest ericli Posted November 14, 2003 Posted November 14, 2003 Can anybody check my phone card website again in this category: Phone Card Distributor?
thehelper Posted November 14, 2003 Posted November 14, 2003 Your site is still awaiting review in the category with a very large number of other site suggestions. The category unreviewed is very backlogged for that category so I suggest, in order to save you time, that you give an extra month or two in between your status check requests. Thanks.
Guest ericli Posted November 14, 2003 Posted November 14, 2003 thank you for your reply, but I have waited more than half year!! Any possibilities to speed up the processing? and what are the criteria to approve or decline an application?
thehelper Posted November 15, 2003 Posted November 15, 2003 There is nothing you can do to speed up the process. You will simply have to wait until a volunteer editor finds his/her way into the category and does the site review. You can read our general guidelines here http://dmoz.org/guidelines/ You can read the specific submission guidelines for the category you submitted to here http://dmoz.org/Business/Telecommunications/Communications_Providers/Phone_Card_Distributors/desc.html Best Regards.
Guest ericli Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 Any update for this http://www.ecallchina.com submission status? Thank you all!
senox Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 Sorry, nothing new here, it's still awaiting review.
ericli Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 Cannot wait any more As you gusy can see I have submitted this website for more than 1 year, and I have posted message at here to inquiry status for more than 8 months. DMOZ doesn't own me a placement but I really hope it could be declined with clear and direct message. I just can't wait for it any more. Editors of this category, please don't ask me to wait for it any more, if you can't review/approve the submission in a reasonable time frame.
Meta nea Posted July 6, 2004 Meta Posted July 6, 2004 I'm sorry if this sounds blunt, but since we are not doing this as a service to you we are not actually asking you to wait. We review web sites in order to build a directory; a lot of people help us out by suggesting web sites and we do review them all but we cannot say when it will be. Note also that it is very unlikely that the editor(s) who will be looking at your site have read this thread. We are not singling you out for unfair treatment - this is the situation for everybody who suggests a site to us. In some categories, review times are very short, in others they are long, but the situation may be reversed at any time. And regarding reasonable time frames, please read this posting by kokopeli, which summarises it beautifully: http://resource-zone.com/forum/showpost.php?p=101322&postcount=6 We ask of all submitters that they don't ask for new status reports more often than every 6 months. This has nothing to do with the length of time until review, it is just a way to manage this forum better. This makes you eligible for another status request after Dec 2, if you haven't seen your site listed by then. Thank you for your patience. Curlie Meta and kMeta editor nea
