submitting sites out of assigned cats

I applied to be an editor tonight... well, this morning. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, after looking at some of the other posts, but I was just wondering- what's the most efficient way for editors to post sites that are not in their own cats?

You submit them via your dashboard to the other category (editors don’t complicate the issue /images/icons/wink.gif ). Write a good title and description (you’ll get credit for that) and that is about all you can do. You’ll just have to wait just like everyone else. There are a few other ways that you can help it along, as you’ll see once you become an editor.

Hope it works out and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. /images/icons/smile.gif

By the way, matters pertaining to DMOZ editing-related issues or DMOZ editor functions are better discussed in the editor forums.

Considering that he's not an editor - just yet, how exactly is he supposed to post in the ODP forum?

I don't think sahbbg would appreciate the inadvertent gender change... /images/icons/wink.gif

Expanding the topic a bit -

Editors can only edit and publish sites in a category for which they have permissions. Whenever an editor moves a misplaced site or wants to add one to a category they can't edit in, it automatically goes to the unreviewed queue (even if it had previously been published in a different category). Although the editor can't list the site directly, they can still get editing experience (credit) by working from their internal dashboard/bookmarks.
