janesdeals Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I have waited a year - still not listed.... I made one of the first closeout websites and I was always in the top 10 for 2 years. I changed the website name and now I can't get listed again. All my competitors are listed. What did I do wrong? bobrat Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 Yuu need to provide a clickable link to the category, please see the forum guidelines. :arrow_right: And look at other posts to see how this should look. It expedites the answer to your question.
Meta kokopeli Posted January 12, 2004 Meta Posted January 12, 2004 Your suggestion from 22/Apr/2003 is still pending review in that category.
janesdeals Posted January 12, 2004 Author Posted January 12, 2004 Should I resubmit it under another category?? What do you suggest?? Thanks! Jane
bobrat Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 If you are resubmiiting to another category just hoping that it will get edited faster there, that's not a good idea, it just delays the process, while an editor reviews it, and it gets moved back to where it belongs. And it gets noticed that you are doing this, and does not reflect well, and it just makes extra work. And you end up playing a guessing game anyway, the presence of an editor name, and the perceived activity in a category does not really tell you what is happening internally. On the other end - if you truly made a mistake, and believe it should be in another category, then one resubmittal may be forgiven.
janesdeals Posted January 12, 2004 Author Posted January 12, 2004 Thank you for your time - I will check back later. Jane

bobrat Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 You have way too many threads on this URL - http://resource-zone.com/forum/search.php?searchid=128559 Which leaves a total mess to follow. Depending on what I read - you are either asking too soon, or you should not be asking at all, since your site has been rejected. Do not start any more threads.
janesdeals Posted May 8, 2005 Author Posted May 8, 2005 Too many threads? 1. I never received a reason Why my site was Rejected. 2. I patiently waited 3 years for this rejection. Again which had no reason. 3. I have since discovered my competitor is the editor!! The editor is controlling the wholesale category and he is being funded by Ebay. I have filed a complaint. and now on another wait list to find out why this type of abuse is allowed. I apologize for so many threads but it has been over 3 years of this. I only want to be listed and to be able to compete fairly on the internet. My site qualifies content wise. I held the top 3 placement for closeouts in lycos, aol, google, msn and yahoo from 1999-2002. In 2002 my competitor became the editor for the category wholesalers/liquidators and put me on a wait list for 3 years - Finally I got a letter of rejection (for No Reason). I would appreciate a site status update - reason of my rejection and reason why I keep getting put on the back burner. Jane
Meta nea Posted May 8, 2005 Meta Posted May 8, 2005 All your threads have been merged. Do not start new threads about your site. Thanks. You received a status update about a week ago. The forum rules state that all submitters need to wait at least six months between status requests. (That has nothing to do with the amount of time it takes for a site to be reviewed.) In addition, you may want to read our FAQ (linked at the top of every page) to find out why we don't discuss the reason for not listing a particular site, as well as some facts about how the ODP works - it is impossible for any one editor to control a category, and no category has an editor who is the only person to edit there. janesdeals Posted May 8, 2005 Author Posted May 8, 2005 3 editors controlling Correction-- It is 3 editors. I have already reported the abuse and hopefully the higher editors will do something about this and I won't have to wait Another 6 months with no answers. Jane
bobrat Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 Which abuse are you talking about - the one where you offered bribes to an editor to get listed. Get real.
oneeye Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 http://www.searchengineforums.com/apps/searchengine.forums/action::thread/forum::directories/thread::1089076587/start::1/ The editor is controlling the wholesale category and he is being funded by Ebay. That's odd, I count 7 different editors having dealt with your site, including 4 meta ("higher") editors none of whom could have any possible connection with your line of business. won't have to wait Another 6 months with no answers. On 1 Feb you were told the site had been rejected from the Trade Liquidators category and not to bother resubmitting. On 30 April you were told it had been received in the Marketplaces category. Add the first answer to the second and whilst the site is currently awaiting review, it is probable that the decision will follow that made in Trade Liquidators. So why wait 6 months? My advice would be to forget it and move on. But hey, who knows, maybe one day an editor will review and accept it. However, given the quantity of submittals and lack of editor interest in your field I would not be surprised if review is years away.
