nuthin Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 Hello, This site was submitted back in Mid July. Would have been to this cat: http://dmoz.org/Regional/Oceania/Australia/Western_Australia/Transportation/ Was wondering the status on this site or should i wait a bit longer before resubmitting if the site didnt go through for some unknown reason? Regards, David Hobbs Webfirm
Guest Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 Your site is waiting along with less than ten others. Please do not resubmit. Western Australia is having the directory built out to localities, and quite a few sites submitted at higher level categories have had their listings delayed while this is being done. Please be patient, it shouldn't be long. PS it will probably end up listed in Burswood based on a quick look at the site.
nuthin Posted September 18, 2002 Author Posted September 18, 2002 Hello! Thanks for that. Is there any reason why they are being moved out to localties? I am just wondering
Guest Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 It's not sites per se that are being moved out. Western Australia did not have the localities set up, so sites were added, sometimes in the localities that did exist, sometmes at higher level (after all there was no need when there were only a few hundred sites for the state in total). The localities and the related structure are still being created. Once everything is complete sites will be listed in the level of their physical location. This is the way of all Regional listings. Sites are listed in the smallest possible container. So if your business is located in Port Hedland, you'd get listed in the Port Hedland category. If you had a physical presence in Perth as well, the site would get listed at State level (Only list once). There are levels in between (municipalities and regions), which are for sites that only have multiple physical presences in those areas, but not outside them. Information overload?
