Guest Posted September 21, 2002 Posted September 21, 2002 I can't remember which category I submitted to but was wondering if someone can tell me the status. I suspect the subject may be difficult to categorize! Flamingo lawn greetings are a relatively new industry. I cannot remember if I submitted to a local category but I thought I did both an industry and a regional submission. The regional would be South Carolina/Columbia-Lexington/Business or something close to that. Thanks in advance for any help!
Khym_Chanur Posted September 21, 2002 Posted September 21, 2002 The site has been deleted three times from Regional/North_America/United_States/South_Carolina/Metro_Areas/Columbia-Lexington/Business_and_Economy: twice about a month and a half ago, and once 3 months ago; any submissions more recent than that have been untouched by any editor. I don't know why those submission were deleted.
Guest Posted September 21, 2002 Posted September 21, 2002 Thank you for your quick response! That is disturbing news. We are a local business serving this area... the site is defintely unique with plenty of content. I guess I should write to the editor? I'm assuming there were no notes associated with the deletion. Thanks again for your quick response!
sabre23t Posted September 21, 2002 Posted September 21, 2002 Dear moonwalk. Looks like the local editors of Regional/North_America/United_States/South_Carolina/Metro_Areas/Columbia-Lexington/Business_and_Economy/ consider the cat is not appropriate for your www.flamigoed.com and it is not in the unreview queue there. If you're going to resubmit please find another single best category for it. This other post regarding hullaballoosales.com and hullaballoorental.com may be relevant.
motsa Posted September 22, 2002 Posted September 22, 2002 http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/South_Carolina/Localities/I/Irmo/Business_and_Economy/ is the most appropriate place for Hullabaloo since the company is located there. You're already listed there, though, and it's unlikely more than one of the Hullabaloo party rentals sites would be listed.
Guest Posted September 22, 2002 Posted September 22, 2002 I will see if the editor will reconsider. Although both sites are owned by the same company, the services offered are quite different- one is aimed at only children's parties while the other is a service that is more broad to all occaisons. I understand the reasoning on the local cat but someone searching for a flamingo lawn greeting in the Irmo area would not click on a site about moonwalks. That is why they are separate companies (of the same parent) with separate sites. I really thought unique content was the benchmark for directory listings. Thank you for taking the time to check on it and post the info! I do appreciate your help.
