mcdermc Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Hello, I submitted http://www.moles-squirrels-rabbits-mink.com to category http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Home and Garden/Pest Control/Mechanical/Animal Pests back in December 2003. I've been looking forward to getting one of my sites into DMOZ one day and in the last couple of days I've noted a couple of entries in my log-files that have a trace of dmoz:- http://editors.dmoz.org/editors/editcat-unrev.cgi http://editors.dmoz.org/editors/editunrev2.cgi Do the file names above mean anything significant? Is this a reason to be cheerful (as Ian Drury used to say)? Best Wishes

Have you lost track of your mirrors or something? We too have a pest control mission. We culled your swarm of sites, and kept one. Keep the others off of our site, or we'll poison them all.
mcdermc Posted February 4, 2004 Author Posted February 4, 2004 Re: http://www.moles-squirrels-rabbits-mink.com I now remember why I very rarely post.
mcdermc Posted February 4, 2004 Author Posted February 4, 2004 Re: http://www.moles-squirrels-rabbits-mink.com :confused:question specifically to hutcheson?? I now realise your 'mirrors' comment is significant to me. Can you say which one you kept?
Alucard Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Re: http://www.moles-squirrels-rabbits-mink.com how about we do it the other way around... which ONE domain would you like your business to be listed under? That way we can hopefully shorten the process.
mcdermc Posted February 4, 2004 Author Posted February 4, 2004 Re: http://www.moles-squirrels-rabbits-mink.com http://www.countrymanpestcontrol.co.uk - is the original and oldest domain. Let's go with that. Thanks for the consideration. Best Wishes
Meta hutcheson Posted February 4, 2004 Meta Posted February 4, 2004 Re: http://www.moles-squirrels-rabbits-mink.com Ah, we like that domain name much better. It looks like a real business name and line of business, not the leftover chum from a keyword-stuffing frenzy. It is listed in http://dmoz.org/editors/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Industries/Agriculture_and_Forestry/Pest_and_Disease_Control/ . If there are other categories it would fit (I don't know offhand that there are, but UK editors may know better), then submit that same URL.
Meta hutcheson Posted February 4, 2004 Meta Posted February 4, 2004 Re: http://www.moles-squirrels-rabbits-mink.com Oh, and I should probably not have stomped you _quite_ so hard. But that sentence I quoted, since it implied you did NOT have any of your sites in the ODP, was something you REALLY should not have said.
mcdermc Posted February 5, 2004 Author Posted February 5, 2004 Re: http://www.moles-squirrels-rabbits-mink.com :)Splendid - thanks for your help. As for 'stomping' - I don't mind, it's just that like most closed user groups, you converse in an esoteric language with which I'm not too familiar. Best Wishes
