Guest BigMatthew Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 My question for the attribution code is this, my categorys will not have the same directory structure as the ODP nor will they probably have the same category names. For instance; my category might be called Arts and Entertainment, but ODP is just called Arts, I have a script that will put in my category in the $cat field of the ODP for me according to what my categories are called. I would end up with http://dmoz.org/cgi-bin/add.cgi?where=Arts_and_Entertainment which would not send a visitor to ODP's submit a link to the Arts category, instead there is a redirect that sends them to /add.html. My question is, would it be acceptable on the Submit a Link to just have it go to the /add.html and the Open Directory Project link to go to /about.html and the Become and Editor go to the /about.html page? Would that be acceptable for the attribution box? Thanks.
samiam Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 For an official answer, you'd probably need to contact staff@dmoz.org - but there is a lot of email that goes there, so replies may be slow, if you get one. If you're importing the data from DMOZ, then perhaps you have a mapping table/file you could use to point it at the dmoz category?
