Music on my site....
I appreciate everyones critique on the music on my site, each one of you have brought up some viable concerns pursuant to a specific users actual time spent on my site....
After careful consideration I have decided to keep the music, many of my pages have different types music playing in the background depending on the theme of the page....
If a visitor lands on my site, chances are they want a swimming pool, patio or some sort of radical architectural concrete...
I want the users to listen to my music, not their own....I want their full undivided attention....they can listen to whatever they want to, AFTER they leave my site, but while they are there at my site I want to mesmerize them and yes manipulate the user to either picking up the phone and calling my office or to fill out my estimate request form.
My site is a "sales tool", a place to send my clients to configure their upcoming project, estimate their upcoming project and to view our gallery of completed jobs, pick colors, use our online design tool, online calculators and many other online tools that people are free to use pursuant to any type of decorative concrete, masonry or aquatic project, both residential and commercial.
Their full attention on our site is imperative to "closing the sale". I don't want a user listening to Rod Stewart while they browse my site...I want them listening to my music - very up-beat...fast...and exciting...just like how construction is...fast paced, exciting and invigorating. We intend on "controling the sale"
We want people to be excited about their upcoming project - We want a targeted audience not "window shoppers" .
I would like to reiterate that my site should be listed in the aforementioned catagory as well as some other sites that should be listed.
I have applied for a position with ODP to assist in editing this site but I was turned down due to "Fluor Daniel not being located in Houston"..(WHICH THEY ARE) and I also recommended Baker Concrete and this person that denied my voluntary editing position said that they also were not in Houston??? (Which they are) Both Businesses together occupy over 168,000 sq ft of office space in Houston and maintain their websites from Houston...Why would I bring that up?...because if your going to be an editor at least do your home work before you make absurd statements and deny willing and qualified people to assist in editing a catagory that is in obvious need of a quality collection of useful websites...
I realize that the editors have much more work then they can handle and that is why I offered my expertise....
Any additional advice or observations would be warmly accepted
