erri, politeness is like wisdom and good scent: if you feel compelled to tell a stranger you have them, then you haven't.

And piousness is reserved for those that truelly are. So sit in your throne and pass judgement, what I wrote is still true.

I recall reading once about a fascinating behavioural study. Two people stood next to one another, each told to tap the other one exactly as hard as he had just been tapped. Within minutes they were pummeling each other mercilessly, each one believing that the other had done all the escalating.

It doesn't matter who started it. It doesn't matter who is more polite than whom. This conversation is over.
