We need to know the category and/or the editorname you chose. BTW, did you reply to the confirmation e-mail? If not, then you will have to do that before the application will show up in the queue.

Sorry to say, but I'm not seeing any application for that category. I would have to assume that it was denied. All I can say is to try again. Make sure that you read through the FAQ and General Advice thread in this forum.

Sorry, but it looks like the application has been reviewed and denied.

It looks like your application was reviewed and denied. I think it may be time to find a different hobby :)

:)

Well, thanks for the advice donaldb. I received no reply to my application to become an editor (except on this forum)
Could you give the reason(s) i failed? it will help me for my next application.

I read the submission guidelines.
The category i chose had 2 links only.
Experience: editor for zeal.com, musicmoz.org, and editor for dmoz.org about 2 years ago.
Titles and descriptions were fine to me.

thanks, cooleditor2.

I would take donaldb's suggestion that "it may be time to find a different hobby" literally and not apply again.

Open doesn't mean everyone will be accepted or reinstated, no matter how often they reapply.

Asking for reinstatement is your only option as a former editor. If you've asked for reinstatement and didn't receive a response within a reasonable amount of time (let's say a month), you can pretty much take it as a given that your request for reinstatement was denied. At that point, you've exhausted all your options and need to move on.

Motsa,

Maybe you are going to think that i'm some kind of dummy but 2 years later i do not remember my username. Anyway i doubt that dmoz will let me edit 10 categories with 30 links.

If you can remember a category that you edited or a site that you added, we could probably look up your username.

Two thumbs up for the effort, but I think it is time for you to forget about the ODP :)

Don,
Why are you being so mean to someone who is willing to devote their time to your company? Seems very rude and unprofessional to me. I sympathize with cooleditor not re-applying because he forgot his user name and password from 2 years ago. Very understandable in this day and age with so may PINS, ID's, usernames, account numbers, and passwords.

This thread has actually sparked an entire conversation about DMOZ on
http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=7646&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Regardless, DMOZ looks very amature and unstructured in this thread. I'm glad I spotted it before applying.

Gotta run, Seinfeld is on. Its that episode with the "Soup Nazi". Makes me laugh every time. :D
