their time to your company

This is no company - everyone here is a volunteer on the DMOZ project. Although it's nice that people want to spend their time helping, it only works if they have the abilities to do that work correctly according th the guidelines. That includes entering data correctly, and checking that URL's for sites work correctly.

Did you see cooleditor2 complaining about my comment? No. cooleditor2 knows why I said what I said and that's all that really matters. We don't discuss editor removals and the specific reasons for application denials in public.

Don,
Why are you being so mean to someone who is willing to devote their time to your company? Seems very rude and unprofessional to me. I sympathize with cooleditor not re-applying because he forgot his user name and password from 2 years ago. Very understandable in this day and age with so may PINS, ID's, usernames, account numbers, and passwords.
Gosh, forgetting your user ID and password is easy enough to do. Lying on your new application about never having been an editor before, well, that takes a little work, don't you think?

This thread has actually sparked an entire conversation about DMOZ on
http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=7646&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
Regardless, DMOZ looks very amature and unstructured in this thread. I'm glad I spotted it before applying.
Me, too. If comments like this about a situation you know nothing about make you decide not to apply (or better yet, make you create a Dmoz Sux thread in another forum), then perhaps it wasn't a good fit for you in the first place. Better to find out sooner than later, eh?

As donaldb said, cooleditor2 understood full and well what donaldb was saying, even if you (and others) didn't. And that's all that matters.
