Nope, that myth has been addressed time and time again in this forum.

Actually no its not a "myth",there is no editor in that category. Yes I know any editor with the correct rights can edit any category. Does that mean one has or is ever going to have any interest in editing that particular category? No that doesn't. So kindly don't condescend

Correcting misinformation is not condescension.

Fact: all categories have one or more editors
Fact: only a minority of all categories (around 600.000) have an editor name listed at the bottom
Fact: most sites are listed in categories where no editor name is listed at the bottom
Fact: most new listings are made by editors that are not listed at the bottom of that category
Fact: most updates (change / remove) are made by editors that are not listed at the bottom of that category

Myth: suggesting your site to a category with a named editor will speed up the review process
Myth: sites suggested to a category with no named editor will not be reviewed

Fact: sites suggested to a category just because an editor is named there will be moved to the right category (which most probably won't have an editor named)
Fact: these moved sites will have a longer time between suggestion and listing than sites that were directly suggested to the right category
